Do you have another ships, Sonic or otherwise, that you particularly enjoy?
I actually passively enjoy a lot of Sonic ships, but if you asked me to actively name one that wasn't ShadAmy, it would be SonKnux. Mind you, I've got a few (potentially weird) opinions about it, so like, to make a short list: 1- I still firmly believe Sonic is Aro/Ace and repulsed by the notion of romantic/physical relationships. However, he still has some peculiar thoughts/feelings about Knuckles that occasionally manifest in Sonic's traditional flirtatious shenanigans.
2- I don't think Knuckles is Demi romantic/sexual, but I do think because of his isolated upbringing and his (somewhat justified) paranoia about his island/Master Emerald/Chaos Emeralds, he's very hesitant to let anyone into his personal and private world. Sonic is one of those few people. That doesn't make it an inherently romantic/sexual thing, buuuuuuuut- 3- I can see Sonic willing to actually try a traditional relationship, if only because Sonic can see it means something to Knuckles, but also, *Knuckles isn't asking*. Ergo, if it doesn't work out, Sonic has plausible deniability. He was just goofing. He was just taking the piss It was just guys being pals. It's normal to kiss the homies goodnight on the mouth. Don't look at him like that. 4- Knuckles would never *ask* Sonic to be in a relationship because Knuckles wouldn't ask *anyone* to be in a relationship. He's not comfortable with, in his view, requesting someone shift their entire world experience to meet him at his level, and they would have to, because getting him to move is like trying to move a mountain. It will happen.... but very, *very* slowly. 5- Wildest most unhinged and unfounded headcanon: I think Sonic is an actual avatar of the Earth, existing in times of need to protect it. Knuckles, meanwhile, is a creation of the Master Emerald and its will to have a protector for it, the Chaos Emeralds, and Angel Island. It is, I think, entirely within reason to believe that because of this, you might have a reincarnation situation, or these two literally won't ever permanently die. Much like the Sun and the Moon they model after, they'll dance around themselves in a relationship beyond all terms and definitions until the Earth itself is swallowed by the universe. ... so yeah, I like SonKnux. Other than that, I like KnuxOuge (I can see them becoming a thing, but only AFTER at least one failed SonKnux attempt), VecTilla, and whatever the hell you'd call Tails and Charmy (that little nerd deserves a crash-test dummy boyfriend).
