Werehog and Darkspine Sonic
if you think about it both of Sonic’s super forms from the storybook games are incomplete. Darkspine Sonic only has 3 of the world rings and Excalibur Sonic has 3 sacred swords+Caliburn but there are at least 2 more because of Lamorak and Galahad
they could be even more powerful

THE WILDFIRE
Some unfinished pieces/Doodles from the last couple months or so that I've done as warm-ups while working on SBR. Maybe I'll clean one of them up and color soon...
People keep wanting Dark Sonic to be canon, but I understand why it’s not. We basically got 2 alternate versions!
The Werehog and Darkspine are forms of darkness. With Werehog, not only is it Dark Gaia energy, but also a result of the Chaos Emeralds losing their power. It couldn’t corrupt Sonic emotionally, so it’s an outward manifestation. Darkspine is a result of the World Rings of Hatred, Sadness and Rage. Literally all things that would drive people to evil. But with both these forms, Sonic doesn’t lose control of himself. He’s more aggressive, but that’s it. Not one to full violence, either.
These forms are proof that Sonic is too strong to lose himself to darkness. And it’s true Dark Sonic reacted violently, but he didn’t lose himself either. That’s why Eggman was able to calm him down so quickly. So with two alternate “dark” forms being canon, I see why SEGA thinks we don’t need a third one. I still think the designs people come up with look cool thought.
