Day 7 - "The baby is coming!" / Newborn 🚼

​Context: The birth of their baby was taking longer than expected. Sonic had a gut feeling about it, but he decided to ignore his instincts and travel with Knuckles to Christmas Island—the home where his family lived.

​However, on the very same island where Sonic himself was born, someone else decided to make an unexpected arrival.

​Day 6 - Backache / Nesting / (Extra: Pregnancy Pillow)

​Context: The due date is approaching. Both Sonic and Knuckles feel a strong need to spend more time together before the arrival of their baby.

​Sonic has never been one to show vulnerability; there are only a few occasions where he has opened up like this to his partner. However, Knuckles knows him well enough to decipher every single one of the hedgehog's movements.

​He never imagined that Sonic would ask him for something that would make his heart leap with emotion and tenderness: the certainty of knowing that he will protect and care for them both when the time comes.

Day 5 - Pregnancy Belly / Kicks / (Extra: Insecurities) 🫃🏼

​Context: During Sonic's pregnancy, Knuckles has been forced to be away even more than usual to guard the Master Emerald. This didn't bother Sonic at all; after all, his friends were there for him, and he enjoyed having his moments of solitude.

​However, in his husband's absence, he began to develop a few insecurities as his body changed. He, who had always been athletic and had a "magazine-ready body," felt how the hormones hit his emotions on countless occasions, making him feel like he didn't recognize himself anymore.

​One day, while Knuckles was looking forward to reuniting with his husband, he noticed a curious attitude in him. At that moment, he decided to find out what was behind the behavior of the father of his child.

Day 4 - Ultrasound / Heartbeat 💓

​Context: After that couple's spat, Tails proceeds to perform the ultrasound to finally clear any doubts.

​In doing so, he was able to confirm the baby's existence. Sonic and Knuckles, despite having sought the possibility of becoming parents, still couldn't believe it was finally a reality: a being sharing both of their DNA was growing and developing.

Day 3 - Mood Swings 💢

​Sonic went to visit Tails at his workshop, but he didn’t count on fainting right in the middle of their conversation. The incident alarmed the fox, who felt compelled to call Knuckles to inform him of the situation; the guardian left everything to rush to his side.

​A couple of hours passed before he regained consciousness. Knuckles was quick to confront him about what had happened, but they didn't expect Sonic to talk back with the same intensity as his husband’s concerns.

Day 2 - Morning Sickness 🤢

​Context: After a talk with Tails on the day of the test, and without any solid confirmation yet, Sonic decided to be cautious about the situation. Knuckles was completely unaware, but after so much time as friends and lovers, the echidna knew him well enough to notice something was off.

​Sonic went to visit his husband on Angel Island, facing a few setbacks along the way. His sense of smell had become sensitive, and as time passed, various discomforts began to manifest.

​Upon arrival, he noticed that Knuckles' scent was different—or at least, more intense. He smelled like salt water, something that made Sonic’s stomach churn for no apparent reason.

Day 1 - Pregnancy Test ➕️

​Context: Before getting married, Sonic and Knuckles had agreed not to have children, a decision primarily driven by Sonic.

​However, after certain events during their first years of marriage, Sonic noticed some signs and realized that—deep down—he truly desired to start a family with his husband. Even a pregnancy scare weeks prior changed his mind, awakening a longing within him to have an heir.
