Zolu is a very cat-coded pairing I just realized. (I can also interpret Luffy as puppy-coded as well) This revelation made me think up a headcanon.
During his frequent naps, Zoro would stir awake, because he senses a presence watching him. Cracking open his eye, his theory is proven true. Not just watching, but on him too.
Luffy's straddled in his lap just staring at him, hands on his chest for more leverage, with a bright smile. Zoro asks if he needs something, Luffy replies that he's fine and just keeps staring.
Zoro doesn't make any more attempts to have his captain move or pry more information out of him. He just goes back to sleep knowing Luffy is content and watching over him.
The crew just has to deal with it at this point. It's a part of their daily routine by now.
I find it really funny how I'll see the cutest fan art of Zolu, or just them separate and I'll think.

How the hell do people manage to draw Zoro, I always make him look like a guy from the 70s on steroids, genuinely I wish I could draw

In skypeia after Luffy got the gold ball of his arm it hurt obviously but Luffy being himself ignored it. Chopper tried treating him but there was nothing visibly wrong with Luffy other than some scratches.
Again in the film gold movie, when Grand Tesoro trapped his arms in gold it hurt a lot more since he was the one controlling the gold.*
After the fight Luffy was now more clearly injured and there were gold flakes still under or lodged in his skin after the fight. While Chopper was treating him Zoro was holding Luffy's hand and also helping Chopper get some of the flakes of gold out. Zoro was talking about the guy he had to fight and Luffy was listening.
*Gand Tesoro, he can control anything and everything that is made of gold
I will never get over the fact that OPLA Luffy cleans Zoro's swords while he's recovering from Mihawk's wound π AND he refuses food (when has he ever done that???) asking Sanji to make Zoro's favorite food instead π
