I did start Shayyad yesterday. I am currently on episode 4. Had heard great stuff about it plus it’s a Faiza Iftikhar script so it was always at the back of my mind as a show that I’d check out someday. The 21 episodes in total literally made my heart sob in relief cuz whoooo makes such short dramas anymore?!

Honestly, the show has legit everything on point except the casting. I just can’t get over how most of the actors are just so WRONG for these characters. And it saddens me cuz the aesthetics are SOOOOO on point. It’s been a long time since I’ve watched a show which was shot in some real locations. I mean the way they have shown the real, living Lahore, as well as all the kachi sadaks of the village..it’s just so pleasing to look at. Plus, the show has some interesting editing choices which just pull you in. It’s really really REALLY well-shot show. But ufff…I see Uzair and Sadia and them trying to act and my brain just nopes so hard. Uzair chalo I think might grow on me (I’m not counting on that much) but Sadia?! Tauba astagfaaar the lady’s “acting” has me cringing so hard. Shayyad’s story seems to have everything I’ve been craving for; most importantly it is handled by a director who knows how to hit the right notes. BUT COULDN’T THEY HAVE TAKEN MORE COMPETENT ACTORS FOR THIS?! I can’t get over the feeling of, “Hayyee..if only these characters were played by someone else..” and trust me, that’s not a nice feeling to have. It’s not just Saad and Hani. Like the actress they have chosen for Salma! I shit you not but Saad’s mother said about Salma, “Atharwen mein lagi hai..barood ka dher!” and my mind spun so fast at that I legit had to pause the episode to take the information in. Allah ki shaan hai buss if she looks 18 from any angle. I know Noman Eijaz would nail his character but alkdsjaskjdh couldn’t they have taken actors which share a proper chemistry with each other?! Chemistry is THE MOST VITAL aspect of a love story yaar!!

Agar koi puch le humse tum kya ho hmare ,shayad hum btla nahi payenge, koi puch le q pasand ho itna toh shayad bs muskura jayenge,

Hume tumse kuch umeed toh nahi hai par kabhi kabhi lagta hai ke shayad tum bhi whai chahte ho jo hum chahte hai, shayad byan krne se ghabrate ho ya shayad khud hi nahi jante ho…

Tum toh ye bhi nahi jante ho ke hum tumhare bare me baat kr rhe hai, ab tumhe kaise btlaye ke hum aaj kal khud se bhi bus tumhari hi baate krte hai…

Shayad pehli jhalak se pasand ho tum ,ya shayad us lamhe se jb pehli dfa tumse baat hui thi, hum nahi jante wo konsa lamha tha bs itna jante hai k kbhi bhool nahi paye uske baad tumhe.

Shayad tumhe isi hi pal me koi mill jaye jise mill kr tum hme bhool jao, par hum tumhari gali me isi trha chup chup ke aate rhenge ,tumhe dur se dekh muskurate rhenge tab bhi tumhari shirt ki tarif krenge bs farq sirf itna hoga ke tab hum khud ko keh denge “White suits him”, or ye haq toh humse koi nahi chin sakta hai, tum bhi nahi….

Dil sehma hua sa hai,
