Summary:

Marinette saw Cerise pick up the knife and trace the tip of it, expression twisting. Her finger came away red and slightly pricked. Marinette’s brows shot to the sky and she gasped at the display. Had Cerise pressed into it deliberately to…? “Hey! What are you—” “Ow!” Cerise yelped, the knife clattering to the floor, “Wow, that's sharp!" Marinette grabbed her arm in a panic, but that strange smile greeted her when she looked up. It's like Cerise had gotten exactly what she wanted. But that couldn't be it, right? She held up her finger to Marinette's, which was now just as mangled. "We match, at least," She said softly, deadly soft. Marinette is left scrambling after a long-coming confession to Adrien goes completely sideways. Isolated and reeling from the fallout, who better suited to come to her rescue than the darkness that lurks in her shadow?

CONTEXT/AU: takes place around season 3-4, but everyone is iffy about marinette because of lila’s lies, except for adrien. Marinette and adrien like each other but nothing more than just close friends and talking. marinette is bisexual but she hasn’t explored that side, and lila is a closeted lesbian.

Today’s the day, Marinette tells herself as she remembers every goddamn time Lila lied to everyone and turned them against her. She was going to confront that attention-seeking brat today, and put an end to this madness.

after school, the bell had just rung.

“Lila.”

“Marinette?”

Both of their hearts were pounding, but for different reasons. One filled with anger, another filled with love, two of the most strongest emotions. Lila’s eyes glimmered as they set onto Marinette, but she hid it well..looking at her with those cold, icy green eyes instead, when her heart wanted nothing more than to look at her with the love she felt.

“Why do you this? Why? My friends all hate me! Alya barely even talks to me and-“

And just like that, Lila’s soft finger was pressed against Marinette’s pretty pink lips covered in that strawberry lip gloss as she pinned her against the locker. Everyone was gone by now..except some students in the library and fencing classes.

“Why do you think I did it, Marinette? Can’t you tell by now? God…I thought you were smarter than the others.”

Marinette’s mind is racing with thoughts, trying to muster up a response but she can’t..not with Lila looking down at her like that, with those gorgeous piercing green eyes—wait, what is she thinking?!? She’s in love with Adrien, not her enemy! She hates this girl more than CHLOE, how could she- And then she snaps out of it when she realizes Lila is smirking at her flustered face.

“God you look so cute. Tell me what’s going on in that pretty little head of yours, Marinette Dupain Cheng. You thinking of trying to expose me for the 7th time? Or something else..”

“WHAT?!?” Marinette screams in her head..did her gorgeous nemesis just call her pretty AND cute? “That’s not the point,” she tells herself, “I need to confront her.”

“Enough with the games Lila! You’re pushing my friends away from me and you’re lying with every breath! Why do you do it?! Answer me!”

“Sweetheart, it’s cause i’m in love—no, i’m obsessed with you.”

Marinette freezes.

“No one else deserves you. No one. You’re too perfect for them all,” Her voice grows stronger and more passionate with every word, “I turned them all against you because you’re mine, sweetheart. I can treat you better than that dumb blonde boy. Just give me a chance..or else i’ll make sure even Adrien starts hating you.”
