Just took my first dose of Saphris. Already feel sleepy as hell but also who decided that was black cherry flavored??? Are we sure? There was no black cherry to be found.

I’m feeling SO off put by my new psychiatrist office.
I wanted to try something as needed. She didn’t think that was a good fit. Ok. Prescribed saphris.
Several days later I find out my insurance DID cover it. They brought it from $547 to $527 🙄🙄
Call the nurse to see if they can call in brand name saphris to try the manufacturer coupon. Sure. Sure.
Get a call from CVS that it’s too early to fill my (insert generic saphris here). Call them. Psychiatrist didn’t request brand name. But they run it anyways and it’s still like $530.
Call psychiatrist back to tell them and see what they want to do. I haven’t heard back in about a week.
I’m supposed to see her again in 3 weeks. Which will be a whole big hassle because my husband will need to use PTO to stay with the youngest for my appointment. But I realized yesterday that our insurance deductible is $500 (use to be $250) and they bumped our out of pocket to $1500 (use to be $500).
How I take Saphris:
1. Somehow get the pill out of the package
2. Place under tongue and make ugly faces as it dissolves
3. Spend ten minutes suffering
4. Eat something with a lot of flavor to mask the taste of the Saphris (water makes it worse!)
5. Sleep for a little bit
Saphris passed away today. He developed dropsy. I tried everything I could to treat him. I feel like there was more I could have done. He had been with me through one of my worst years and I’m going to miss him dearly. Swim in peace baby...

Back at the doctor to ask for genesight and saphris. Second time I’ve tried to get saphris by someone other than my psych, since Teladoc won’t let him prescribe it.
Starting new meds tonight.... but why tf did they have to make it black cherry flavor?? Thats like the worst flavor
