The services are available through insurance coverage or direct payment. Virtual urgent care visits cost $89 for cash-pay users and cover common conditions such as sinus infections, UTIs, flu symptoms, and pink eye. Dermatology patients can upload photos for review by a board-certified dermatologist, who provides a diagnosis and treatment plan within 24 hours. Nutrition services connect users with registered dietitians for personalized guidance, including support for diabetes, weight management, and prenatal nutrition.

Prescriptions can be sent to pharmacies, including Walmart pharmacies, which may offer same-day or one-hour delivery in some locations.

The expansion follows the addition of Teladoc’s BetterHelp mental health services to Walmart’s platform earlier this year.

Teladoc said the partnership is part of its broader effort to expand access points for virtual healthcare. The company also has partnerships with platforms including Amazon and Instacart.

Teladoc says its services are available to more than 100 million people in the U.S. through employers and health plans.

UpLift, which provides virtual therapy and psychiatric services covered by major insurers, will be integrated into the BetterHelp segment, enabling BetterHelp users to access insurance-covered care—a significant shift from its current cash-pay model.

Teladoc reported a Q1 net loss of $93 million, missing analyst expectations, with BetterHelp revenue falling 11% to $239.5 million. The company also incurred a $59.1 million goodwill impairment charge. Still, executives see UpLift as a strategic move to increase customer access and retention, predicting 30% longer member durations and higher conversion rates due to the affordability of covered care.

UpLift covers 100 million lives through its payer contracts and has a network of over 1,500 providers. Teladoc leadership views this acquisition—and the broader mental health market—as a long-term growth opportunity, particularly as they consider expanding insurance access for BetterHelp. UpLift’s CEO will remain at the helm under Teladoc’s ownership.

The acquisition follows Teladoc’s earlier $65 million purchase of Catapult Health in February and is part of CEO Chuck Divita’s broader plan to stabilize and grow amid increasing market competition and investor pressure.
