Listen weather or not at tbis point Rex had had intimate relation with Obi-wan or not mister paranoia is a familiar friend Skywalker would just be taken out by the implication! And that’s enough for Rex to leverage. I think Rex threating Obi-wan’s sex life to make Anankin brake check himself is hilarious and he’d get so comfortable doing it hed forget to not do it in front of Cody or even Obi-wan who are both like shocked that Rex is just weaponising that OR tapping that.

Obi-wan: I hadn’t known Rex was discussing a sex life i must have missed in our last debrief

Cody actively planning to send his brother back to kamino: I was there for that debrief there was nothing of the sort.

Obi-wan: well, I shall have to catch myself up with my apparent partner

Did you know it’s been ten years since I posted this fic?  The march of time is relentless and unstoppable!

This is not the first fic I posted on A03 but the first completed one (pour one out for Walk Light Down the Wires, forever to remain a wip because tlj and ros drove a stake through my love for the sequel trilogy).

It's been strange revisiting this fic.  Rereading it, there’s a clumsiness to this story, rough spots that the me of today would have done at least another two passes of editing over, and jokes that I would rework and tighten up.  There are what I consider major failings with this fic, mainly in that I took the names Sinube and Nu and stuck them on characters that have absolutely no passing resemblance to the canon characters just for a joke.  Even Anakin, to a lesser extent, suffers from this, all of his many faults sanded down and sanitized to something that is less interesting.

And yet I'm still deeply fond of it.  It's got the earmarks of what I term a dharma fic: outsider pov on the main pairing, complicated sibling dynamics, the sweet being cut through with bitter and the bitter cut through with sweet, the grief at the center of everything, so much fucking banter.  There are themes here that I keep returning to even ten years later and jokes that I'll work and rework until they're almost polished.  There is the aforementioned banter that never stops.
