Damian: I bought Jon a private island with a castle.

Duke whispers to Steph: I don't think anyone loves us.

then again, it might also be the fact that I don't like how yj's character designs started to look more in line with the designs for the dc animated movies that were being released during that time, which were heavily inspired by the new 52 stuff, resulting in him having (imo) much better hair in the first two seasons

Lian, coming home from school: Ugh, school is the worst. *throws her bag on the ground and groans loudly before slumping down on the ground.*

Tyler: *pokes his head around the corner to see Lian.* Uh, you good, Li?

Lian, muffled by her face in her hands: Never go to school, Ty, it's awful.

Tyler, frowning: Bad day?

(Sometimes Lian has bad days. People aren't exactly the kindest when your dads are both nepobabies. It also doesn't help that Lian's fathers are gay. Sometimes it has nothing to do with Jason and Roy and all to do with her. Those days were worse. It was one of those days.)

Lian: *sniffs and brings her hands away to wipe her tears.* Yeah.

Tyler: *crouches on front of her.* You wanna know what 'sad' stands for?

Lian: *sniffs again, fumbling whilst trying to scrub away her tears. she wanted to be strong for her brother.* What?

Tyler, with as much seriousness as one could get from an eight-year-old: Secretly A Dinosaur. *Wraps his arms around Lian and lets her pull him into her lap.* It's okay to be sad, Big S (big sister). I love you and I'm here.

Lian, who was now crying for a whole other reason: I love you too, Ty.

Jason and Roy: *melts*

Jason snapped a picture. Lian's face was splotchy with tears and Tyler was covered in grease from helping Roy with a car but it got framed. Lian then proceeded to look at the photo on the shelf in the living room during Tyler's teenage "I'm too good for my family and am the son of The Red Hood, fuck off" phase to be reminded that her baby brother was still in there. When he grew out of that phase, he often glanced at the photo and even though it contained his dead sister, he still smiled small at the memory, unlike how he typically reacted to photoes of her (sobbing and screaming, cursing the world for taking his big sister from him).
