A day after a majority of Progressive Conservative MLAs refused to stand in the chamber following a statement recognizing the Transgender Day of Remembrance, the backlash reverberated through the legislature, with government MLAs repeatedly heckling the Tories and the premier calling the PC leader a "bigot."
The governing NDP spent much of Friday's question period condemning the Tories for staying seated after the address, calling it a harmful act against transgender people.
Meanwhile, PC Leader Obby Khan said he remained seated because the speech was politically charged and touched on other matters, rather than commemorating and honouring the transgender community.

Iâm here to prove this
Hi! My pronouns are they/he/she. Iâm currently not in a relationship nor am I actively looking for one. (I believe that if itâs meant to be Iâll find them without trying). However, I do hope to some day be a homemaker and to be a stay at home parent. Nationality wise Iâm Canadian, and ethnicity wise Iâm German. (Probably plus a few other variations of European; but you get the idea). I think German tradition and culture is something to be appreciated rather than associated with hate. Obviously, Germany has quite the controversial and dark history. However, I still think that being proud of your heritage and culture should not be looked down upon solely because of the history of your country/country of origin. Germany is an entirely different place today than it was in the 1940s; and German culture is beautiful. Sure my decision to mix posts appreciating Germanyâs culture with posts relating to traditionalism can seem problematic. Iâm aware. But itâs really not. I donât think anyone should be forced into this type of life. I think it should be a decision that goes unjudged.
On that note DNI if youâre a Nazi. Cause seriously. I may be German and I may be into traditionalism. But I ainât gonna agree with you politically about almost anything. I may be right wing but I do still think everyone deserves basic respect and human rights. So yâknow. Fuck off if you donât believe in basic human rights being basic human rights. Thanks.

I speak English (first language) & German. Iâm pretty into politics but thatâs not the main purpose of this blog. Iâm also fairly interested in history. Which again: German + traditional + interested in history. I know it doesnât sound great. I get it. But yâknow. That doesnât define me as a person đ. Besides that: I love Disney movies.
