This morning my silverback came home from his run, and answered all of my prayers. Literally every worry gone just like that! *deja vu is hitting hard rn.

Anyway I dilly dallied, checked my Dreamlight Valley stores and started Chrisley Knows Best. Ate some lunch, now I’m in the tub!

I had a hard time figuring out what to do for my birthday last year, too, and finally settled on a picnic only for the weather to be bad and the picnic not happen. But my Husband and Father in Law went all out and bought me the most gorgeous Earl Grey and Lavender cake from a local cake baker to make up for it. It was so lovely of them to do.

This year I was also at a loss entirely. I have nothing that I really want. I couldn't think of anything I really want to do. The only thing I knew was that I definitely wanted this vintage cherry cake I found on Tumblr earlier this year.

I was thinking of potentially doing some kind of vintage recipe for dinner, as well. But if I did that, I'd have to supervise because my Husband isn't familiar enough with Vintage recipes. So I settled on ... Nothing. My Husband made the cake for me- and it was really good. He also made me the most delicious Steak and a Baked Potato. And then we just sat around the living room talking to my Father in Law until he had to go get ready for his church event.

I fully support the move- which, judging by his attitude when he told me, I think he thought I wasn't going to. I've just heard those lineman calls go out, and I don't ever want him to be on the other end of it; I don't want him to be the one they lose on the job and have to make the call for.

It's a dangerous job (one of the top 3 most dangerous jobs in the world, honestly) ... But it's also a really good job. And I know he's been wanting to find a new job for ages because he's tapped out at work and honestly hates his job (well, more how management screws him around because he's their best worker. But I digress). So of course I'd support him switching. It just scares me, because I know how badly things can go- and in a lineman job ... You don't come back from that.

The robe is slightly too small as a OSFA, and is very obviously tailored to Asian sizing. But it's so soft and comfortable, and I love it. It even inspired me to fix the strap on one of my old vintage nightgowns that still fits, but had been unwearable for years due to one broken strap I just didn't have the oomph to repair (and whenever I did, I had already forgotten about it again; rinse, repeat for years).

The nightgown, I love it so much. It's a very thin t-shirt like material, but it's soft and breathable; I don't get overheated in it, and it's not uncomfortable to sleep in. And I absolutely adore the little lace details of it. It also color matches my new robe. I'm in love!

The "wearable blanket", though ... Oh man, where to start. It's like a cape shape, basically? But one of those fancy ones that comes up over the arms to hide them, and make a little umbrella thing out of you (why is that the weirdest explanation ever. Here's what I'm talking about).

ETA: Poncho. My Husband has lovingly reminded me that the comparison garment I'm looking for is a poncho 🤦‍♀️ I tried, ok? Ha.

Anyways. It's so soft. So plushy. So comfy. And it keeps me at just the right temperature; I usually use 2 throw blankets to keep myself warm- one around my shoulders, and another over my legs. And most of the time I wind up getting a tad too hot. But if I don't have both, then I'm too cold. So it's a constant struggle of taking off, putting back on, rinse, repeat. This thing is big enough it covers my legs, too, and generally keeps me at one solid temperature overall? It's fantastic.

It's not a big deal. I did take Lily out on the least still for the first week. I got tired of it, though, and just let her run normally since she can't really even get into the spot the gap is at. And so far she hasn't even noticed it's there.

That was before the transmission flush we had the mechanic do, though. After having had the transmission flush, it did wonderfully; shifted well, no stuttering, good acceleration ... It seems like all it needed was that transmission flush because it's finally about to hit 100k miles.
