🌷 the basics: born and raised in houma, louisiana - mid 20s - paediatric oncology nurse - known for: being the only nurse with the bouncy hair with a vanilla trail following behind her - signature drink: caramel macchiato
🌻 personality: the sunshine in a hospital that rarely sees it. she’s bubbly, playful, and always ready with a smile! even on the hardest days. she talks fast, laughs easily, and has a way of making even the scariest moments feel a little less terrifying. but she isn’t fragile. beneath all the sweetness is a girl with sharp edges. when things are too planned, too controlled, or too pressured, she gets snappy. not because she’s mean, because she’s tired. because she’s overwhelmed. because she’s holding too much together. she’s the kind of girl who can comfort a crying child with one hand and shut down a careless doctor with the other.
🌟 her style: literally anything girly. glossy lips, dysoned hair, perfume that smells like marshmallows or vanilla (kayali vanilla), gold heart shaped earrings, fuzzy socks with kittens in them, sabrina carpenter (LOVES man’s best friend), and her pink scrubs
🫧 looks: golden hair that you’d usually see straightened or half up, in reality it’s a wild mess. frizzy, bouncy ringlets that you’d only see in the brave movie. carries a slightly tainted louisiana accent, tooth gap that she absolutely hates.
🍓 now, a 23 year old girl who just got her nursing title.. so why is she so obsessed with this one attending?? stay tuned to find out! 💕
LOVE YOU 💟

Someone reblogged one of my old posts where i mention emergency medicine and these days I can’t believe I almost chose that as a specialty. These days if i’m in the hospital past 6PM i want to throw up. If i see a patient older than 16 i’m just confused. I need a 45 minute break half way through a ward round to drink hot choccy and gossip. I was born to be a pediatric sub specialist.
paeds rotation is nearly coming to an end 🥹 I only hope internal medicine is not too hard on me.
An infant with a severe genetic condition has shown signs of improvement after receiving a gene-editing treatment tailored to his specific m
It's hard to explain how much of a big deal this could potentially be for paediatrics. There are many rare diseases - most of them with a very small number of people affected, often with a de novo mutation not seen before. Many of them affect core processes that we need for life - like enzymes or processes that we cannot live without.
Many of these conditions are severely disabling, and many of them are unpreventably progressive, getting worse over time, becoming fatal in childhood or even infancy. With few known treatments that can help. I've seen families and affected children with severe genetic conditions and the suffering all of them experienced is still etched on my heart - and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
The fact that maybe one day we will be closer to saving these kids' lives and preventing years of suffering and early deaths is genuinely inspiring.
Gene therapy has been suggested as a treatment for years, but it has taken a long time for it to yield results that we can truly see. I have so much hope for these kids.
