The answer is yes KDSHFLKSD I love talking about my lads and my friends guys, and I also adore being asking, so TYSM haha. Oh, okay here's something, if you're doing Artfight or have an acc, most of our guys are under the "Newstead" tag. There's a ton of good art over there, and I have a WAY better description of 13 and its lore.

Alsooo,,, would you like the Cinematic version or the bulletpoint lore drop? (In the meantime, here's some stuff about my character 13 c: )

13 is a robot based off the idea that Guardians could be robots and not fish. From there I was like !! what if the people who made the Guardians made more robots? And so on and so forth.

Without getting tooooo lore heavy off the bat (I will get lore heavy /threat it's just 12 ay am) the scientists who made 13 are a deeply hurt set of individuals and I spent way more time thinking about them then my actual OC LKSDHFLSD.

Here's a bit of a basic rundown. (I've said that a billion times without ever actually starting the so called basic rundown-)

Saffron (She/They) is the most senior scientist and runs the project. Her main struggle is regret. She left behind her sister, and because of the tragedy of cryosleep, slept through her entire life without really being aware of it. It's not really their fault, Saffron thought the project they were signing up for was going to be shorter, but she still blames herself. Two of the other scientists also die under their supervision, and Saffron thinks it's because she was rushing to finish the project.

It's not, and it still doesn't lessen the grief.

Dallin (He/Him) is the oldest scientist age wise, but isn't the most senior because important people don't like him. Saffron outranks him, but that's really a formality, and they stand on equal ground. His story is the most convoluted but basically he died. A long long time ago. Because of his well-meaning but foolish dad, he was trapped in the void, and by the time the totem pinning his soul to the universe dragged him back into the overworld, he was a bit worse for wear. He's now a shadow of a man, a story, a suggestion. The only parts of him left are literally the bits he told himself he was while in the void, so he's still learning to be a person again.

He doesn't talk about it.

Madeline (She/Her/Xe/Xem probably. Might make some cooler neos later.)

Madeline is one of the less flushed out scientists. Xeir story mainly starts to unfold when actually in the project, but basically she joins the project after working somewhat casually at The Collective (the evil organization they all work for) and xe starts to try and convince the other scientists that The Collective isn't what they think it is. Dallin knows but doesn't care, and Saffron tries not to think about it, but Maddie keeps bringing it up, and eventually starts to bring them around. Xeir an affectionate parent figure to 13, and the ethical and moral compass of the group, as well as the farseeing mastermind. She is the reason 13 has a digital copy of everyone after they die. She's the reason the Collective didn't just steal all their work. (Xe also love greek myths, something that influences 13 a lot.)

She's terrified xeir kindness is just an insignificant drop in an ocean of cruelty.

Lydia (She/Her)

Lydia is Madeline's partner, and also someone I have thought very little about. I'm sorry lydia, but you have my favorite name, and NO story to speak of other than (how the freak did I get in a relationship with this amazing person waughhhhhh help insecurities.) There's probably something interesting to write about dating someone while working and being stuck in incredibly tight and stressful quarters to them. Also aging centuries together. Idk, I don't plan too much angst between characters because I need something happy to write, so I think they get along pretty well mostly. In fact, all of them are kind of a traumabonded little dysfunctional family.

Lydia is scared she doesn't matter to the group around her, and tries too hard until she breaks something.

Uh so anyways there's a little taste of me and mine. I haven't even started on The actual Collective, and it's formation and politics, or the worldbuilding, or the events that stick the scientists in the monument and kick off the 13 project. Not to mention 13's actual formation, pre-story, and then ACTUAL story along with everyone else's characters. 13 is my little guy and I love it, but also I just kind of blasted it with the angst beam 24/7 while writing the backstory.

....goodness gracious this was supposed to be fast and small until I could get around to the OTher stuff,,,, Oh yeah, and I guess there's also everyone else's character to talk about.

06/14/24 - New guy just dropped

A new character I designed that day, + a few sketches trying to figure out the vague logistics of a digitigrade robot leg. Ft. @ninjiisbetterthanyou's character 13 in the second image :]
