This Iron Age sword was found in a pool on Flasby Fell. It has an iron blade inside a copper alloy scabbard. The design of the sword is that used by the local tribe of people, the Brigantes. They made it around 50 CE. During the Iron Age, water may have been seen as magical.

Flemington 1 Pictish Symbol Stone, Resin Cast of a 6th or 7th Century CE Symbol Stone, Aberlemno Hall, Angus
Dug up in 1962 during ploughing in the field less than 30m east of the church. The original is in The McManus, Dundee, presented by the farmer David Grant.
On the undressed boulder are incised Pictish symbols of a horseshoe and 'beast'. The 'beast' is a unique Pictish hybrid perhaps combining elements of a dolphin and seahorse. The same pairs of symbols, decorated in an equally simple way, are found at Congash (Highland), Clatt (Aberdeenshire) and Bruceton (Perth & Kinross).
