Mallard, purple loosestrife, my first Large White on patch this year, mating Gatekeepers and view at Lakeside Country Park and Fulvous Pearl moth at home today 7th July 2026 and Emperor dragonfly at Testwood Lakes on Sunday.
Other highlights today were Brown Argus, Small Copper, Green Woodpecker, Great Crested Grebe chicks, fleabane, hawkweed oxtongue and marjoram. Common Tern, Lesser Black-backed Gull, Redshank, Peacock, Green-veined White, Holly Blues, Black-tailed Skimmer, Blue-tailed Damselfly, Common Red Soldier beetle and marsh thistle have been other standout species of recent days.
