today i attempted to make this poorly named but good sounding clarified milk punch for a party tomorrow but i completely fucked it. it was not my first time making clarified milk punches and i've always had them turn out well. highlight reel:
1. had to boil coke for the syrup. thats not bad i just thought it was funny
2. the milk did not curdle at first. i figured welp maybe it needs more time so i let it sit
3. returned after an hour and there was no change. it was just not separating. i blame the milk i got - it wasnt the usual stuff i get it was a different brand and i think it was like UHT pasteurized or super homogenized or whatever
4. found a reddit post saying you can coax clarification with egg whites whisked with water and some egg shells, then heat the punch until simmering and leave it for 5 mins (you filter the punch so this is not a problem)
5. tried that. nothing was happening
6. left the stove for one minute, came back to the thing BOILING OVER AND ON FIRE because it was full of rum. lidded, burner off, emergency avoided. but lmao
it went down the toilet. rip to a bottle and a half of good rum. oh well, there's more rum
