These Enchanted Rose Cookies will transport you to the world of Beauty and the Beast. They're a whimsical addition to your afternoon tea with their delicate rose petals and golden shimmer.
Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 1 large egg. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Red food coloring. Edible gold dust. Edible rose petals.
Instructions: In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms. Add a few drops of red food coloring to the dough, mixing until the desired shade of red is achieved. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Preheat the oven to 350F 175C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness. Use a rose-shaped cookie cutter to cut out the cookies and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely. Once the cookies are completely cooled, brush them with a touch of edible gold dust to add a magical shimmer. Gently press edible rose petals onto the center of each cookie, resembling the Enchanted Rose. Allow the gold dust and rose petals to set before serving.
