Look, all I’m saying is that in my personal opinion, the idea that because Shane is a Jock™, it is completely inaccurate to portray him has having any sort of semblance of an intentional skincare/personal grooming routine, ignores entirely the fact that he’s not white and that he very well could have some sort of skincare/personal grooming routine despite being a jock because of cultural differences in his upbringing being half Japanese and having Yuna as his mom. Especially considering that he does ads and commercials that are heavily focused on his appearance, which I believe he does care about at least to some degree. Historically men of color have tended to have more rigorous personal grooming habits than white men and there are differences in standards of beauty and masculinity across various groups and I just think characterizing him as you would a stereotypical white jock guy minimizes his cultural context
