TADC goes so bad that Jax having heartbreak and a turbulent friendship with some of the abstracted circus members being a Series Finale reveal loredrop with flashbacks makes me insane because that's just
so badly written
that information should have been like, episode 4 information... you can't even meet the characters and their dynamic beyond superficially, there's no room to really learn how he would hold the information and move around with it because it was barely a point except in a few very vague bleak scenes. there's no time ot really understand who ribbit and maybe kaufo are even to him and who they were as characters because we meet( so far just ribbit shown) them only as the series is ending. that's HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE. WHY.
there's just so much of the series that didn't want to talk about the characters, despite being "character-driven"
it just wanted to talk around the bare bone basics of what they MIGHT be like and im crying so badly it was so praised for nothing it did at all because it was met with more fan content generating ideas and answers to that to cover it up which to me isn't even a sign it was successful from a narrative standpoint because there is just little else that's even around right now for content people would enjoy.
I find it really funny and weird that people will always go “oh but mineta will grow out of being a perv, don’t hate him for it, he’s just a kid“ or “oh Bakugo will grow out of his anger issues, don’t hate him for it, he’s just a kid”
But with Iida it’s “he’s always so uptight I hate him” and never “oh but Iida will learn to be less uptight when he grows up, don’t hate him for it, he’s just a kid“

sometimes i have trouble separating the art from the artist– especially in live action

Anyone who says Gustholomule is toxic but loves Lumity really needs to rewatch some season one episodes.
I love both ships, and it's fine if you don't like gustholomule, but some people just completely forget about the first half of season one altogether.
