À la naissance bébé possède un duvet de poils appelé lanugo. Il aide à la production et à la fixation du vernix caseosa = la substance jaunâtre collée sur la peau à la naissance.
Ce duo agit comme une couche anti-bactérienne

Part 2- Lanugo
Okay, so part two. Lanugo.
It’s both gross and pretty cool.
Lanugo is on almost every baby, it’s really soft fine hairs, that usually fall off within a couple of weeks. Mine never did! Some people grow their lanugo back, specifically if they’re often cold, or underweight.
My lanugo has actually grown sadly. Although usually blonde or white in apperance, my lanugo is a slightly brownish colour, a shade lighter than my natural hair colour.
It’s pretty cool how our bodies can adapt to help keep us warm!
It’s not very cool that I have random patches of visiable ‘fur’ (On the right side of my neck, lower back, ect.) that keep me from wearing clothes I love.

I've had some sort of pimply lanugo rash for a month now and it's spreading everywhere.. it only started on my stomach, but now it's also on my neck, lower face, back, chest, boobs, thighs 😳 it's so itchy, and I can't work out how to get rid of it?!
Why Is Your Newborn’s Hair So Hairy?
Newborns are often born with soft, fine hair called lanugo, which serves as a natural mechanism to help regulate their body temperature while in the womb. This hair usually sheds within a few weeks after birth as your baby adapts to the external environment.
