Wimpy Dragonborn and Odahviing

he was, being the “first born” and favorite of akatosh, immediately a demi-god and forced into roles he was too inexperienced to play. the role of akatosh being split into two, the god of dragons being akatosh and the god of time being alduin. alduin was supposed to take a heavy load off of his fathers shoulders. but he was inexperienced. he was too human.

as anyone would, he messed up at first. a lot. each punishment worse than the last; to the point where he essentially “died.” (news flash; he actually can’t die until akatosh wishes it upon him) multiple times as punishment

he was a child with no guidance. and when the god of time roles began to fall upon him he’d see bits and pieces from the future. he’d see things and problems and be unable to solve them. no matter how he tried to change the course of events, it never worked.

not only that; but he had to reset the kalpas. he had to reset the entire universe. if he didn’t; oh the hunger that would plague him. if he was late, not on track.. he’d get skinnier, his weight would go down, malnourished. he had to reset the kalpa’s.

but oh those screams. the deaths. the bodies. the way they’d beg him; please, please stop. and he wouldn’t be able to. women, children, minorities; everyone. it didn’t matter. he was hungry enough to eat them all. and his appetite does not succeed until he does. so with tears, he does.

eventually, he forms a plan. maybe, just maybe, if he ruled the world and controlled it, he could grant eternity. he could grant a long good kalpa and not have to go through the painful cycle.

he gets his dragon priests and his people. and his two best friends, most of all. paarthurnax and odahviing. (post on their friendship coming later)

but at this point, he was so far into his development of (what we would call BPD) and decades and centuries of him resetting the kalpas and all the memories and the pressure gods the pressure of having to be a god and perfect and everything.

he was going insane. and he’d have breakdowns over such small things. and the nords saw that.

and so he was misunderstood. always misunderstood.
