It's infusion day for me, which means I sit in a room and get meds by IV for a couple of hours.
To make things easier, I always bring:
snacks & lunch
laptop/work/things to do
a snuggly friend (today it's an elephant)
headphones
chargers
a personal fan
a sheet to drape over the infusion chair so I don't stick to it
a hoodie or blanket
How do you prepare for big appointments?

Just a bit of thaumposting, as a treat. Eventually I’ll make it digital
Seasonal Celebrations: Lilac Chardonnay
I've been dreaming about this infusion for a while now and every year I miss lilac season. This year, I've finally got around to harvesting enough flowers for this project.
For me personally, lilacs symbolize impermanence, the fleeting nature of beauty, and the transition into spring. My lilac shrubs flank the walkway to my front door so I also associate them with hospitality and a warm welcome.
This infusion was purely experimental and won't be used in my practice. If I were to incorporate it into a working I would use it as a special seasonal offering, especially for nature spirits and house spirits. It's also good for spring celebrations, glamour magic, and workings related to moving into a new home. Imo this would be a great introductory offering when working with new spirits.
Ingredients:
1 bottle of chardonnay
Two sprigs of lilac blooms, not treated with pesticides or herbicides
Instructions:
Rinse flowers in cold water.
Remove all blossoms from the stem and place into a lidded glass jar.
Fill the jar with wine.
Seal and store in the refrigerator for 1-3 weeks. A longer steeping period will produce a more floral infusion.
Strain, bottle, and refrigerate.
This was our final result. The wine I started with wasn't nearly as oaked as I wanted it to be. I was really hoping for a heavily wooded base with sweet, floral notes. This wine had a strong citrus flavor with an oak finish.
The result after infusion was interesting. The citrus notes became much sweeter and honestly it was like green apple in my face with a subtle floral finish. Not at all what I was going for but it was tasty regardless. If I were to try again I would likely use a more oak-forward wine and a lot more lilac.
