The “I” is as real as rain, as weather, as fire, as digestion. It is a phenomenon within a larger system transient, dynamic, interdependent, but fully real while it operates.
When rain happens, we don’t ask whether it’s “real” just because it doesn’t exist apart from clouds, temperature, and gravity. We recognize it as a configuration of forces; a process that arises and passes, yet during its happening, it is utterly concrete. The same is true for the “I.” It condenses from neural, bodily, and environmental conditions; a storm of perception, memory, and interpretation temporarily organized around a center of reference.
When the storm subsides in deep sleep, unconsciousness, or death. the configuration dissolves, but nothing “fake” was ever there. It was nature in motion, nature self-reflecting.
So, the “I” is as real as rain, as weather; not a permanent thing, not a separate soul, but a vivid event in the ongoing climate of being.
