(Mind you, this is in the Morgan AU, and Eowells hasn’t entered the picture yet. So Morgan is still going by Jesse, and she’s about 18 months old. This is maybe a day or two before everything goes wrong):

“Tina, you’re holding it upside down!”

“Don’t be silly,” Tina protested, “I know how to hold a camera. It’s the right way up.”

“You should do what she says, Teenie.”

“Because the wife’s always right?” Tina teased.

“Exactly,” Harrison agreed, kissing Tess’s cheek.

Tess laughed at that, turning her cheek to capture his lips with hers.

Tina snapped a quick picture to tease them with later, then said, “Alright, lovebirds, enough of that. Make a proper pose so I can take a few pictures for your family, Tessie.”

So Harrison and Tess obliges, striking a number of poses, and even dragging Tina into a few of their pictures.

They ended up using the whole roll of film, rather than just half like they’d thought, but it was all worth it.

(Years later, their orphan daughter held one of those photos in her hand, awe on her face and tears in her eyes.

“They look so in love,” she whispered.

“Yes,” Tina agreed, smiling around her own tears, “they certainly were.”)

These three are also known (in my mind) as: the trio that got no screentime and barely a mention, but they were all friends from undergraduate college onwards, and you can’t change my mind 😌

Harrison is awkward, Tess is more well-spoken (unless of course Harrison manages to fluster her, which happens more often than people might think). Both of them are endlessly curious and will do almost anything, and Tina is the reluctant mom friend who loves them both but wonders how two future scientists (with a dream of opening their own big lab one day) are so reckless (and also idiots, because of course it takes them until graduate school to realize they love each other).

So, first up:

Harrison: Who thinks I can fit 15 marshmallows in my mouth?

Tina: You’re a hazard to society

Tess: And a coward. DO TWENTY

As established, Harrison and Tess are both reckless, and Tina’s just resigned to it 😂

Harrison: How's the most beautiful person here?

Tess: I don't know, how are you?

Harrison, flustered: I-

Tina, from across the room: I'm doing great, thanks!

To be honest, Tina deserves the compliment after so many years of waiting for them to start dating, let alone get married. AND dealing with their antics on top of that. Poor Tina 😂 also, Harrison and Tess could totally be swapped. Yes, Harrison can fluster Tess as well as she can fluster him, though no one ever sees it coming.

Harrison: Fitness tip: never stop pushing yourself. Some say 8 hours of sleep is enough. Why not keep going? Why not 9? Why not 10? Strive for greatness

Tess: Next time you’re working out do 15 push ups instead of 10. Run 3 miles instead of 2. Eat a whole cake instead of just a slice. Burn your ex’s house down. You can do it. I believe in you

Tina: There were so many mixed messages in that I can’t-

Tina’s like “please...this makes no SENSE”

Tess: What's a word thats a mix between 'sad' and 'mad'?

Tina: Disgruntled, miserable, desolated-

Harrison: Smad

When it fits, it fits 🤷‍♀️

Harrison: In my defense, I was left unsupervised

Tina: Wasn't Tess with you?

Tess: In my defense, I was also left unsupervised

Tina really should’ve known better 😂 these are her friends, after all!

Tess: Here’s a fun Christmas idea. We hang mistletoe, but instead of kissing, you have to FIGHT whoever else is under it.

Tina: Tess no

Harrison: Mistlefoe

Tina: Please stop encouraging her

I don’t see Tess as much of a fighter but this just works. It’s partly an excuse to finally get Harrison to kiss her, with an added twist because just a kiss? That’s so boring, and it’s been done before!

How I feel about this character: He’s so sweet 🥺 and he, Tess, and the baby girl they definitely had (in my headcanon at least) deserved so much better

My unpopular opinion about this character: I don’t like Timeless Wells, I miss E1 Harrison in the flashbacks

Also idk how popular this is or not, but I hc that he and Tess had baby Jesse but she died in the car crash with Tess 🥺

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: If they were gonna revive him, I wish they'd just revived him as he is, instead of making him “timeless” or whatever. I didn’t like that

this is the Tragic Trio fic, which I think I've talked about before, but it's been an on-and-off WIP for...two years now? I'm more actively writing it now, but we'll see how long that lasts before it gets put on the backburner again.

In any case, this is a backstory fic for Tina, Tess, and OG Harrison, pre-canon! It doesn't necessarily tie into the Morgan Wells AU, but it can (I usually headcanon that Harritess had a daughter anyway, she just didn't survive the crash in canon).

Tina moves to America, is roommates with Tess, and meets Harrison (and then Harrison meets Tess, and it's a bit of an awkward first impression, but they get past it!). She has a little sister too, Eleanor, and a strained relationship with her parents. And for now, that's what I've got
