Post 205: Garlic festival shooting - Three dead in Gilroy California
Read: 29 July 2019
The Gilroy Garlic food Festival has been held annually since 1979. The city is a major garlic producer and the event features cooking competitions and live entertainment.
Three people have been killed and 15 injured since the attack on Sunday evening, with the gunman having been shot dead by the police. One of the victims was a six-year-old boy - Stephen Ramero - who was shot while in a bouncy castle with his mother and grandmother.
This tragic event is the 246th mass shooting in the US this year (mass shooting is defined as a gun attack leaving up to 4 or more people wounded or dead.)
What should be done to protect from future mass shooting? Is banning guns really that extreme? All opinions/comments welcome.
