Have I told y’all about my amazing #DMBFamily? Well, even if I have, let me just tell y’all again why I love @davematthewsband and our chosen family! I hadn’t even gotten settled at my brothers in Tennessee when I received a Facebook message from a lovely lady in our fam that I’ve yet to have the pleasure of meeting in person. First, she checked in on me which is something some of my own family hasn’t done, then she asked what kind of snacks I could have…caring enough to take my dietary restrictions of dialysis into mind. When I returned from the @inningsflorida music festival (where I got to be with even more of my DMB Family!) I had this awesome package waiting for me from the lovely Annie Allen. This isn’t the first time she’s sent me what our DMB fam calls a “LoVE bomb” but I tell you they always come RIGHT ON TIME. Been on the search for a small heater because my brother likes it cold but dos gatos and I like it hot! @dosgatos_fl are still adjusting to the cold er temps here in TN. Every time I pull the heated blanket out, they crawl up next to me and snuggle on it. 😻They’re also fully taking advantage of the ability to sleep in bed with me because when I had my own place no kitties were allowed in my bedroom…that was my one sacred space! Getting my second dialysis treatment of the week in since I’m missing my third one on Saturday to drive back south for the @inningsflorida music festival in Tampa. I gotta be careful with my fluid and food intake until my next treatment on Tuesday which sucks when going to an outdoor music festival, but that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make in order to try and lead as normal of a life as I possibly can while requiring these life-sustaining treatments. 2nd in-center treatment here in Tennessee and everyone is so nice! I’ve already made friends with the lady in the chair across from me and we’ve been exchanging candies. 🤣 Interestingly enough, my blood pressure has significantly dropped since arriving and it was only 84/56 today! I’ll likely be discontinuing one or both of my meds for hypertension which is a huge win. Maybe this move is better for me than I thought because Florida was obviously stressing me out!
