["I'm sorry... I shouldn't have said that."]
"Wait, that's too obvious." He thinks while crumpling the fifth parchment paper, the sound breaking the silence in his empty dorm.
["Forget about what I said-"] "Too obvious and careless." He crumples it again and throws it behing him.
["You looked pretty"] "That's like ignoring the problem." Covers his face with his hands and groans, just as he is about to throw another crumpled piece of parchment Theo enters his dorm.
"Hey can I copy your potions homework?" Theo says before abruptly stopping when he notices the flood of crumpled parchment on the floor. "Merlin, are you planning on writting a novel Berkshire?" He jokes before crouching to grab one and reading it out loud.
"I'm sor-" he couldn't finish before Lorenzo quickly snatched it from his hands.
"Piss off, Theo" Lorenzo mutters while glaring daggers at the Italian. Who responds while smirking. "You screwed up, didn't you?"
Lorenzo's glare quickly softens when he remembers what he said. "Okay... maybe I like this one girl, and maybe I said something I shouldn't. Hurting her feelings." He admits without telling him about the letters.
"Then stop writing and apologize in her face." Theo responds, like if that was the obvious answer, because it kinda is.
"If only it were that simple..." Lorenzo thinks to himself, before responding to his friend with, "You're right, thanks mate." Which Theo follows by saying with a cocky attitude, "I know, I'm always right" before grabbing Lorenzo's potions homework and leaving the room.
After being finally let alone in his dorm again, he decides what to write. Instead of direct apologizing he decides on something more... subtle.
It's 5 in the morning and you are getting ready for your first class, following the same boring routine as always, until is not when you see the letter that was passed under your door. As always you grab it and sit on your desk to read it.
["Don't let one stupid comment make you forget how wonderful you are. Some boys say things they don't mean because they are idiots who don't think before speaking. Don't let them make you doubt yourself."]
Time later, you are having breakfast in The Great Hall when while telling her about today's letter when she interrupts. "Wait- he heard what Lorenzo said?" Pansy asked while sipping on some orange juice. When you nod as an answer she exclaims, "See?! I told you it has to be someone from Slytherin! And someone sitting next to Lorenzo- Bloody hell! What if it's one of his friends?!"
You quickly slap your hand in her mouth to silence her before everyone hears her excited screams before muttering. "It's not" after letting go of her after you are sure she calmed down.
"But what if it is..?" Pansy responds while smirking and wiggling her eyebrows.
"But it's not!" Now you are talking a bit louder and giggling at Pansy's teasing.
The rest of breakfast continues normally except for the fact you won't even glance up towards the other side of the table where Lorenzo and his friends are. Scared to make eye contact and hearing another thing you won't like.
He's leaving the last class of the day which was potions, he did not leave without a long scold from Snape because he made a mistake in his homework and he wrote the word 'curiuos' instead of 'curious' and the brilliant Theodore-fucking-Nott saw that and copied it with the same. fucking. mistake.
He is thinking about that while walking through an empty hallway when he sees you are walking in the opposite direction. You notice him and quickly avoid the eye contact by lowering your gaze.
When you pass by him he turns around to watch you walk away and he thinks, "She didn't even look at me." and that's when he finally realized...
He had broken something he hadn't even earned yet.
