Tom Riddle/Voldemort is such an eclectic character because you can place him in scenarios where either his feminine or masculine qualities come to the forefront, or both at once, and none of it really feels like it changes the character. He accommodates all of these qualities so naturally that they become part of the same characterization rather than competing versions of him. And, whether people like it or not, even the aesthetic “dehumanization”of the character (not psychologically, because he is actually a remarkably rich and deeply human character) inevitably lends itself to androgyny. He doesn’t become less recognizable when you emphasize one side or the other, because neither masculinity nor femininity exhausts what makes him the way he is! When the focus remains on the character himself rather than on a rigid gendered and stereotypical image of him, all of these traits can coexist without pulling him out of character.

If Tom Riddle had had access to the Internet when he was young mark my words he would have anonymously started the most horrible, nastiest podcast to ever exist under the pseudonym of Lord Voldemort in his late teens/early twenties and progressively gain millions of followers who would do whatever crack ass shit he said at the drop of a hat
