Thoughts While Watching Myself Get Upset And Reflections the Next Day . What is your peace worth? At what cost will you give it away? Is it worth $10? What about a spot in the grocery store line, a sudden change in plans, something that won’t matter in a day/hour, or someone hanging up on you? Will you give it away for a small injustice done to you? Is it worth a rise in blood pressure? What about the ruining of your day, an hour, or a minute; at what cost will you sell your peace? Put another way, what price would you sell your next 10 minutes? Put another way, what is your life worth? Don’t sell your peace so cheaply. . The fact that you can see your thoughts when you are upset is a huge improvement. 15-20 years ago (even 6 years ago), you were so intermingled, so intertwined, with your thoughts that you were at their will; there was no difference. There wasn’t the space between thoughts and your awareness of them. Now, there is often more control. Seeing thoughts, not living captive to them. But there are still unconscious attachment to thoughts. I was aware but still disturbed. There is still intermingled thought life frustration, so continue with the journey toward equanimity. Continued mindfulness practice. . In the next moment and in 20 years from now, I want to live a more mindful, peaceful, and Equanimous life. Equanimity is the goal. Balanced and Undisturbed, regardless of experience of or exposure to emotions, pain, or other things that would previously have caused me to lose the balance of my mind. . The practice: mindful awareness of thoughts. What is the end goal: To be an Equanimous wise old man. What is the goal in this moment: To be an Equanimous young man. The journey is the goal- and the journey is lived each moment. Each moment is the practice. Cyclical.
