I think the dangerous thing about c-ptsd is that it's very easy to taint the present because of either 1) emotional flashbacks, or 2) dissociations.

Sometimes it takes one little reminder of the past to return to the headspace of that time. So if you used to feel hopeless, that feeling gets transported to your perception of the present, and suddenly you're spiraling because everything in your present and future feels hopeless.

And you gotta shake yourself out of it and remember, wtf! This is not my reality, i have things in the present that i care about and i have things i look forward to in the future.

Dissociations really fucking suck tho because if you get too comfortable in them and let em go on long enough, you start neglecting everything around you because you don't want to exit the safety of your head and return to reality.......

going outside with derealization doing the derealization stuff is so miserable. like looking at the blank sky and the surrounding area illuminated in sunlight is just so inexplicably unsettling when you just can't feel like you're There and everything you see just feels infinitely distant, with the only thing you can do about it just being complaining to the void online when you get home
