Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 cup cocoa powder. 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar. 1 1/2 tsp baking powder. 1/2 tsp baking soda. 1/2 tsp salt. 2 large eggs. 1/2 cup vegetable oil. 1 cup buttermilk. 2 tsp pure vanilla extract. 1/2 cup hot water. 1/2 cup chocolate chips. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened. 2 cups powdered sugar. 1/4 cup milk. 1 tsp vanilla extract. 1/2 cup crispy rice cereal. Sprinkles for decoration.
Instructions: Warm your oven up to 350 F 175C and put paper liners in a cupcake tin. To make the dough, put the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl and sift them together. In a separate bowl, mix the eggs, vegetable oil, buttermilk, and vanilla extract. Mix everything together well. Add the hot water and mix it in until the batter is smooth. Add the chocolate chips and mix them in. Fill each cupcake liner about two thirds of the way to the top with batter. After the oven is hot, bake the cupcakes for 18 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean. Let the cupcakes cool for a few minutes in the pan, then move them to a wire rack to cool all the way down. In a different bowl, use a mixer to make the softened butter smooth. Add the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract one cup at a time, beating the frosting well after each addition. To make the "Crispy Magic Frosting," fold in the crispy rice cereal. Once the cupcakes are completely cool, use the Crispy Magic Frosting to cover them and add sprinkles to make them look nice. Have fun with your Crispy Magic Frosting and Double Chocolate Cupcakes!
