Mum bought herself a takeaway bowl of Braised Duck Porridge (卤鸭粥) or congee from her morning trip to the market. It only comes with braised duck meat and peanuts plus the braising gravy to go with the congee.
Here is what mum gotten for my box of Economy Rice (菜饭). Knowing that I like the rendang mutton and the fried chicken drumstick 🍗, she will include these two dishes in the order. The other item she picked for me is this ngoh hiang rolls (五香卷) to go with the steamed rice.

I made homemade Congee for dinner tonight since I was feeling under the weather. It's like an Asian savory porridge! Made with shredded chicken, Jasmine rice, broth, soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, chili oil, cut up fresh ginger (in the congee and on top as garnish) and jammy eggs on top 😋 it tastes healing and comforting!!
