What's your favourite kind of bacteria?
The genus Clostridium has many interesting bacteria, and my favourite of all bacteria is Clostridium botulinum, and close second is Clostridium tetani. Who doesn't love the bacteria that produces the most potent toxin known to humans?
But Yersinia pestis and Bacillus anthracis are also very fascinating. The deadlier, the more fun interesting they are. You also have to watch out for the MDR bacteria.

On Saturday morning, we had an emergency vet call to the barn because Majesty had a 106 degree fever among other symptoms. We treated his symptoms all day. However, by the evening he had deteriorated despite her amazing care and she referred us to Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center in Leesburg, VA. We arrived 2 excruciating hours later around 8pm and were greeted by the most wonderful medical staff. He is receiving enormous amounts fo fluids and plasma in order to improve his condition. He is trying his hardest to pull through. However, as I'm sure all of you know, veterinary care for horses is extremely expensive. They estimated that his care would total $10,000. Please skip a coffee run just once this week and help us keep our baby alive.
