Would bdsm with centaurs technically be pony play? I'm not in either subcultures (Local Aroace that just likes centaurs) Ik they are different in some ways yet similar in others. But it's been rattling around in my head and no one will talk centaurs with me to discuss.

Personally I would say it's not pony play. I'm big into pony play, but I've never participated IRL so take this with a grain of salt. Pony play involves a person taking on the identity or role of a "pony" as part of the scene(s), so a party just having an equine body wouldn't be enough for me personally to qualify BDSM with a taur inherently pony play. Now if the taur was being treated as a horse as part of the scene, THAT could very much be pony play, depending on the parties involved and how the artist/author wants to portray it.

The average bug has ten limbs.

And notably bugs do not have keratin or internal skeletons as centaurs are typically portrayed with.
