Finally thanksgiving break

Did absolutely terrible in my simulation lab today. They tell you before you even start that you’re supposed to make mistakes, that that’s part of the learning process and that everyone needs to do it to learn. But it’s so hard not to get discouraged when it feels like all you’re doing is making mistakes. Especially when other people who have been CNAs or PCTs for years are in the program with so much more experience than you, it feels like I’m so far behind. But part of making it through this is not talent, knowledge or skill but sheer determination so that’s what we’re leaning on right now. First big exam tomorrow, wish me luck.

I cried twice at school this week and now I’m watching catheter insertion demonstration videos in the coffee shop, you could say I’ve hit an all time low. But I got to buy some pretty flowers for work 🥀💉🩻

Completed my first clinical day in chronic care, my patient was adorable and I got to change a wound dressing and do my first full head to toe assessment on a real patient ⚕️🩺

confession: sometimes I just go to the library and I find an old anatomy book and open it up to a random page to keep me company while I study. I don’t know what this does, but something about the beautiful diagrams gives me motivation and makes me feel like a scholar. 🤷‍♀️
