I believe that Chuck & Jenny were originally intended to be an item. And I need you guys to hear me out on this!
They really liked putting them near each other in season 1 photoshoots, including having them look like friends. Interesting for two characters who only interacted in 2 episodes that season! 🤔
(There is another one, with close-ups of their faces and a gold background, but I can't find it.)
Also, the Mexican version, Gossip Girl: Acapulco, though it aired in 2013, had these photos for whatever reason:
👆🏽 That is Mexican Chuck & Jenny (Max Zaga and Jenny Parra). These photos exist, even though Ch@ir was very much a thing on that show.
Furthermore, after "Last Tango, Then Paris," one of the showrunners (I think it was Stephanie Savage) said that it was planned from the beginning. I swear I remember reading that back in the day. And whoever said it, I don't think they meant the entire thing with Ch@ir being together and then breaking up and Chenny having Depression Sex was planned. No. I think they meant Chuck & Jenny having sex. I think they was a plan early on, but then as they wrote season 1, they changed their minds.
