I want to complain about two fandoms at once cuz it's the third time this happened and I just need to point how ridiculous it is. I'm both in the hellaverse and TDAC fandom, correct?
Tell me why I'm seeing Stolas fans/Stolitz fans saying Jax is an irredeemable monster and a terrible person and horribly written character? Do those people seriously mean to tell me Jax, a young closeted transgender woman, raised in an insanely abusive household with a mother borderline emotionally incestuous, who was homeless and struggling, trapped within a digital reality with no way to get out or cope with her feelings properly, is a worse character than fucking Stolas? The Prince who coerced an imp, the lowest class in hell, who was financially struggling in a society that treated him like trash and wouldn't allow him access to better opportunities, into having sex with him in order to keep the book he would need to keep his business alive? Who constantly fetishized his class (species? Whatever the best word is), belittled him, and disregarded his consent? The guy who tried to guilt trip Blitzø into feeling bad for not believing him about his feelings when he himself constantly treated him as a sex object, including when he was working? When he never put in any effort into knowing Blitzø as a person? When he never tried to look at the world through the same lens as Blitzø? The guy who was willing to LET HIMSELF GET KILLED LIVE for a man when he has a daughter at home who needed him, and who he promised he would never abandon her for?
Jax was trapped in a world the human brain would never be able to cope properly with, it's beyond our capacity. We're so used to watching the show that we forget how quickly we'd lose our minds in their shoes. Jax tried convincing herself the world she was in was fake, so nothing mattered, because if she had to face reality she would've abstracted way sooner. She took her feelings out on everyone because she didn't want to believe they were real people, that what she was living was real. It doesn't erase the damage she did, but it's one hell of a good explanation. Stolas actively didn't care about realising his privilege. He has imps working for him and he has 0 care for any of them or their well being, that is shown over and over again. Say what you want about Stella, but she was still socializing and making the best out of her situation, Stolas wasn't. He never cared for being better, the only thing he wanted out of Blitzø was to get an escape, an adventure, from his day to day life. There was no love, there was no interest in Blitzø as a person, he wanted something thrilling.
Jax is not an abuser and a horrible person, she's a victim who was pushed to her limit (and that's reinforced by the fact she clearly isn't a toxic person outside of the circus). Stolas is a man who took advantage of someone vulnerable to fullfil his own fantasies and lashed out at said someone when it didn't work out. You can't demonize Jax if you defend Stolas, it doesn't add up no matter how much you try to baby that bitch. There's also another reason everyone hates Jax so much after episode 9 and all of you know what it is even if you refuse to admit it.
