It's Croctober! For the month of October, @savecrocsja is celebrating the presence of the American #Crocodile in Jamaica - an endangered species. Crocodiles in Jamaica are currently under great threat due to fear, and the recent interest in it's meat for consumption. “Millions of animals are killed by plastics every year...Nearly 700 species, including endangered ones, are known to have been affected by plastics." - National Geographic Unfortunately, this wild crocodile recovered by @nepajm faced a similar fate. Twenty-two plastic bags were pulled from it's stomach during a postmortem. Crocodiles in Jamaica are considered critically endangered. While @savecrocsja & @wildlifejamaica seek to preserve our endangered species, let us play our part as well starting with the proper disposal of plastic and other waste.
