I’m SO happy that Acton is getting better and better with its burger offerings. The Elizabeth line and new housing developments have brought an influx of new businesses to the area which will get it competing with some of the best zone 2 areas. @nodrama.w3 are a few minutes away from East Acton station, next to the new Western Circus development. A coffee & lunch spot by day, and a burger joint every Friday and Saturday evening. They’ve got @hgwalter meat and they know what to do with it. It’s hand pressed and cooked with a crust, then planted in between @socialbymax buns, a local chef who recently started supplying to local businesses. I thought the burger was great, and their weekly specials will keep things fresh and persuading me to visit every week. They do chicken burgers too, and their loaded fries were delicious. They do also do the burgers in the day time, and some more breakfast-friendly burger options. 𝙂𝙞𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙙 🍔 I’ve been to @prairiefirebbq a handful of times, the last time being early 2020, and after another visit this week I have NO idea why I haven’t taken advantage more on @deliveroo. Michael’s permanent location has been on the outskirts of @westfieldlondon for a while now, so a couple of hundred metres from where I work, and within catchment area of @deliveroo at home. BBQ doesn’t get more legit than this with Michael coming straight outta Kansas, so authenticity is important to him. This is The Cow Town; 16hr oak smoked USDA brisket, topped with molten cheese sauce, pickled jalapeños and an onion ring in a toasted bun with their award winning original BBQ sauce. It’s BEAUTIFUL. That meat is perfect, the house made rub makes it even better, and the bbq sauce takes you to heaven. The pickled jalapeños give you a sharp and sweet mix which compliments the meat well, and the molten cheese binds it all together. 𝙂𝙞𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙙 🍔 REALLY impressed with the burgers from @peccatidigolacamden at @buckstreetmarket, especially this Double Cheeseburger. I always say that the best burger in the world is a McDonalds double cheeseburger and if you can replicate that then you’re on to something good. This does exactly that, but with beef from a top quality supplier using great cuts, including the fat from the rib which is where you’ll find the best fat content. The taste of this burger was spot on, nothing fell short. The quality of the beef, the tang of the cheese, the sweetness of the ketchup and Mayo, it all just perfectly blended together. I rate this quite high tbh, they can definitely climb the London burger ladder if people check them out. 𝙂𝙞𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙙 🍔 I broke my commitment of “onion rings don’t go in burgers” for @burgerxpresslondon, and it was a great choice. This is the BBQ Xpress Burger; beef patty, American cheese, BBQ sauce, 2 Jumbo onion rings, spicy slaw, lettuce & chipotle mayo. The reason why this burger worked for me is because the onion rings were super crunchy so it actually added the texture it’s meant to. Usually onion rings in a burger just go soggy, but these were spot on. The BBQ sauce was really good, I’m more of a Smokey than sweet and this was the perfect balance. The chipotle mayo also blended well, you get that nice little underlaying kick to the burger. 🍔 My burger intake has heavily decreased this year. This is by my own free will, I physically cannot consume as much anymore, but it has made me appreciate burgers more. I go back and forth quite often between a regular (or fat) patty and smashed patties. Right now I’m in smashed patty mode, so I was well happy when I saw that @ogosht had opened a few minutes from my home on @churchfieldrdw3. They’re not specifically a burger joint, but they are selling smashed patty burgers that are v good! I went for a triple as proper smashed down patties usually come up smaller and thinner, but these were bigger than expected so a double would have definitely been enough. You’ve got patties, cheese, red onion, pickles, and house sauce. I’m a fan, I thought it was great! The “Modern Seoul” burger joint is giving us a spin on a regular patty, this is The Bulgogi Burger, Fire grilled freshly cut thin sliced beef with Korean slaw and American cheese, ssamjang mayo, yuzu cucumber pickle sauce and bujang sauce. It does look v different to how it’s advertised on their photo though. It looks like a different burger, but that wasn’t too disappointing. It’s quite unorthodox but I liked it. The shichimi seasoned chips were great, although on the more heavily seasoned side, and the boneless fried chicken thigh bites were very good, and they come in 4 flavours, I went for honey garlic soya.
