I realize that I have a habit of making my self-ship dynamics (Not just romantic.) a flavor of: 'S/I is a ticking time bomb that could probably kill F/O at any time, but doesn't.'
Psych majors, got any idea what that means?
Image 1: Painter breathing heavily while holding a camera. I had the idea that Painter's 'movie' would be found footage, from the perspective of the victims and from Painter himself.
Image 2: Painter - 5'3 - 'holding' Brahms - 6'3. ...Basically, just expectation vs reality, lol.
Image 3: Painter making art of things he likes, i.e. Brahms. Oh no, the heart is dripping-
Image 4: Goodnight kith.
Image 5: If anyone understands the reference here, you get a virtual hug. Feat: The knife Painter uses. (This is a knife I actually have in my kitchen, btw.)
I haven't been able to draw that much because of a cocktail of lack of motivation, a snowstorm in my area that knocked out the power, a backlog of owed art from other platforms, working on a book I plan to publish, and real-world struggling with personal stuff, so this is the first thing I've actually been able to 'finish', sadly.

I feel like Brahms would have more scars than just the one on his face.
I canât be the only one who thinks that, right?
Like, mans got trapped in a burning house when he was eight and (from what I gathered, at least.) barely managed to escape.Â
Which might explain why he wears a cardigan over that tank top.
Brahms has Musophobia. Which, for those not in the know, is the fear of rats and mice. This wasnât said in the movie, just a headcanon. (A headcanon which Iâm sure Iâm not alone in having.)
But, that being said, I realize since thatâs the case, that would mean Iâd be the one to deal with them if they somehow got past his traps.
Yâknow how people like to joke about girls getting their boyfriends to kill spiders and stuff?
Well, Iâm pretty sure me, who picked up a wild mouse with my bare hands before, would pretty much be the perfect person to deal with a mouse loose in the manor.
  And yâknow what?Â
Iâm not upset about that. In fact, I think thatâs kind of cute.
*The people behind the movie âThe boyâ talking about Brahms*: âHe doesnât just want a girlfriend or a mom, he wants both...at the same time! >:Oâ
You know, Iâm sure they meant for that to be really creepy and come off as gross & disturbing, but when I heard that, all that came to mind was:

I canât find it anymore, but there was this meme for self-shipping I saw somewhere that basically said:
Step 1: Open Spotify
Step 2: Go to your liked songs
Step 3: Turn on shuffle
Step 4: Start playing the playlist.
Step 5: Think of a f/o before the songs start, that song (Given it has lyrics and isn't fandom-related.) will describe your relationship with that F/O.
For fun, I decided to do it, and uh-...
-Advanced warning! Some of these songs contain swearing, and the song for Aaravos is slightly suggestive in places-
Loki Odinson:
UHHHHH- while the original song I find fairly endearing, this version? It honestly gives me some thriller/stalker vibes, which is not a good sign.
Based on the lyrics though? âMy only friend was a stray kittyâ especially? Iâm getting the feeling that in this instance, Iâm the stalker. Oh, no-
Scarecrow/Jonathan Crane:
Oooh, I love Mother Mother songs. Let's see... Well, I gotta say, it does have Scarecrow's vibe. The song is about trying to force change in yourself, but said change isn't working (And you end up hurting yourself by trying to in the process.) Or...at least that's my read of it.
So, Someone tried to change themselves for the relationship and it didn't work, which ended up hurting them? Sounds like a failed villain redemption and subsequent relapse to me. (Try to be not a villain for your civilian partner, only to end up turning around later type of thing?) ...So, I'm gonna assume this is BTAS Scarecrow, then-
Brahms Heelshire:
I- I mean... well first of all, the 'dressed in green' line would imply that Brahms is the frog, seeing as his cardigan's green and I never wear green, in fact, I usually wear black or brown, which are actual scorpion colours anyway-
Tomura Shigaraki:
Ooooh, that's a nice match. Honestly, yeah, it kind of feels that way, especially with what quirk I gave my S/I, and Shiggo's quirk as well.Â
Sounds like someone attempting to coerce someone else into joining a âteamâ, only to finally open their heart to said person, and right then, that person they coerced gets hurt because they were joining that team? Idk, maybe you could replace that 'team' thing with the LOV? (Or the Paranormal liberation front?) Either way, sounds angsty, I'm in!
Aaravos:
Well, that's certainly not what I expected-
Okay, so what am I getting from this... Well, duality first of all, perhaps indecisiveness? So this is probably talking about me then, haha. Honestly from that context, this makes way more sense.
Newt Scamander:
Yeah, I feel like the lyrics on this one are pretty self-explanatory. Person the song is in pov of was in a bad relationship before and theyâre scared to be open to their new lover.
Honestly, in the context of this involving Newt, it reminds me of this 'x reader fic' I came across at one point, that involved the reader coming home from fighting in WW2 and being severely affected by it. It was pretty good all things considered.
Prince Stolas:
Wait, isn't this song about being trans? Regardless, lyrics-wise sounds pretty accurate, to me at least, especially in the story I gave him with my S/I. Poor man didn't deserve all that hardship, he only has his daughter and his man and me, now.
Viktor (Arcane)
I swear to god, it was on shuffle, I promise- What a coincidence that it ended up being the awesome song from his own source! Though, that doesn't bode well for the relationship, I guess. Sounds like it'll be angsty, oh no. But then again, knowing who Viktor is, I suppose that's kind of a given.
I get vibes of 'everything is crumbling down around us, so let's spend these last few moments of normalcy together' from this match up. (Which should make sense with where Viktor ends up going in LOL lore.)
Rook Blonco:
I can't say I expected this one either. I also can't say I'm super clear on who in this dynamic would be the one who's pov this song is from here?
Obviously, more angst. The song is about changing yourself for someone you love, a theme we saw with Scarecrow as well. Hmm, there's a lot more angst here than I expected...
Vilkas (Skyrim):
Oh no. Vilkas, hun, don't say shit like this, you're breaking your husband's heart-Â
Bad snippet of the song since you canât actually hear any lyrics, but yeah. Nothing like a little bit of âI donât think theyâd really love meâ to get the heart wrenching, right?
Anyway, though!
That's all the ones I'll do for now, trying to figure out how to embed stuff like this frustrated me, so- Yeah.
Selfship(s):Â
-Blahms (Romantic)
Trigger warnings?:
-Uhhh, I donât think so?
Tropes?:
-Enemies to Lovers
-Love triangle
-Unrequited love
-Love at first sight (One-sided)
Changes:
-Brahmsâ backstory has been changed, itâs now a tad more "normal".
-The timing of events has been shifted slightly.
-Genre shift: Thriller/horror --> Romcom
Basic plot:
Brahms was never involved with Emilyâs death, the house never caught fire, and Brahms was never forced into the walls. Though still singled out for being âoddâ, he had a semi-typical upbringing. Heâs not an active member of the community or anything, rather, heâs a âreclusive artistâ archetype. (He makes dolls, small statuettes, rat traps, stuff like that.) Brahms goes into town mainly to get supplies for these hobbies.
Meanwhile, Blake is arriving in town after escaping his âintenseâ family, moving to England from America. The moment he leaves the airport, he has a cliched meet-cute with Greta, who also just arrived. (Specifically, Greta and him mix up their luggage and end up realizing the mistake right as theyâre leaving, leading to the two having to swap back.)Â
Greta came because the Heelshire family was hiring for someone to do chores around the house. (A housemaid, basically.) There was a party being thrown at the time to celebrate Mr and Ms Heelshireâs anniversary as well.
Blake realizes too late that the motel he meant to stay at was... not nearly as welcoming as the ads he saw when travelling made it seem. Thus, having no home, his attention is brought to the Heelshire celebration, and he decides to go (Mainly for the free food.). He sneaks inside and meets Greta again, and they get to chatting.Â
Brahms is dragged away from his work room (Still in the walls.) and forced to join the celebration, where he finally meets Greta. He falls in love with her at first sight, but can't seem to get the nerve to talk to her. Brahms notices Blake and Greta interacting a lot during the party.
Brahms finds out Blake has snuck in when heâs confronted about it by Brahmsâ father and Malcolm. However, Brahms steps in unexpectedly and makes up an excuse that he invited Blake personally. They step away and Brahms talks with him, realizes Blakeâs predicament, and makes him an offer. Help him woo the lovely Greta and in return, Brahms will let Blake stay at the manor in Brahmsâ work room. Blake is suspicious, but eventually agrees.
Blake isnât interested in Greta at all, but Greta, over time, develops feelings for him. Brahms only gets more infatuated with Greta the more he learns about her, while Greta is not interested. Brahms and Blake end up not getting along at first, (Blake is a punk rock dude and Brahms is a posh rich guy, of course they donât get along at first.) but slowly end up going from begrudgingly working together, to enjoying their time spent together, to actually developing feelings for each other as Blake tries to coach Brahms on how to woo Greta.
All the while, Brahmsâ parents try to kick Blake out of their house somehow. From tricking him, to tricking Brahms, to fabricating âaccidentsâ as an excuse to kick him out, etc.
Random extra content:
Blake is entirely oblivious to Gretaâs feelings toward him. There are multiple jokes about this.
---
Blake, angrily clutching a pool cue: âShe asks you âis beauty all that matters?â and you respond with âWhat else is thereâ?!â
Brahms: âIt was dumb, I know. I didnât know what to say!â
Blake, rolling his eyes: âYou should write a book: âHow to offend women in five syllables or less'.â
---
Near the beginning of things, Blake and Brahms argue and have spats almost constantly, but as they get to know one another, those moments get fewer and further between.
Disapproving parents are disapproving, Brahmsâ parents are painfully aware of the bond Blake and Brahms are forging and are dead-set on Brahms having a heterosexual relationship. (Maybe not entirely because of homophobia, but certainly because they want the family line to keep rolling/âI want grandkidsâ, lol.)
