I know that its very common and completely okay for black people to cosplay non-black characters because its just cosplay, but I was wondering if vice versa was okay? Like, is it blackface to accurately portray a black character as a non-black person? If a white person wanted to cosplay as Catty Noir from Monster High, are they allowed to be accurate or is it racist? I ask this out of genuine confusion as someone who is not black.
