Wondering just how much of Kara no Kyoukai / later Tsukihime's anime superpower / secret organization calvinball nonsense is a problem of poor translation and how much of it is just nasu and co being Like That.

As an outsider, Fate looks a great deal like one big Holy Calvinball War, so odds aren't too good for the writers' room...

#tbf I've only seen the films for KnK and /most/ of the way through Tsukihime (plus the anime lmao)#and this can easily be a “not my thing” sort of franchise but. man there is something so cool about the initial pitch #and then...#tho tbf if KnK is guilty of sometimes poorly planning the narrative and fights from a viewer perspective... a lot of things are.#And they often are! sci fi generally can easily fall into these issues.
