I remember, in the late 90s and early 2000s, I used to watch Mulan almost every day on VHS. I loved it. Mulan and Toy Story, if I'm not mistaken, and sometimes The Lion King II. Well... to create this piece, I did some research on the clothing of that time. I believe the name of the dress is hanfu? Or the style? Something like that. I found some beautiful pieces, and some of them reminded me of what she wears in the movie. I confess I haven't watched the live-action yet. I thought about creating something dynamic, with a martial pose, but... with this dress, I think it would be difficult, haha. I opted for a portrait from the bust up, with the sword symbolizing the choice she would make, the famous point of no return. I used an image I found as a background, resembling ancient Chinese scrolls, and tried to mimic a watercolor painting.
So, what was your favorite Disney animation when you were a child?
