A Silent Requiem

⟢ Isn't the best at hand to hand fighting and avoids it in any way if he can, would much prefer to just use his stand to deal with anything that arises while staying out of the line of fire. He isn't adverse to fighting and before he gained TGD he was pretty skilled with combat, but the longer he uses and continues to activate his stand the weaker he feels.

Even with it inactive he feels near brittle with how much his body betrays him, he bruises more easily, it hurts more to be hit.. So he avoids it and would much rather let the others deal with combat or fight from the side-lines.

⟢ He clashes hard with anyone he's sent on missions with outside of Pesci, he consistently feels the need to stay in that position of power and subjugation. To the point that it's infuriating because he does it every single time, either the team back down or cause a LOT of issues when the mission is over.

The only one he won't outright degrade and snap at is Risotto because he doesn't have a death wish, anyone else is fair game for him to pull rank and demand them to follow his orders.

⟢ He never apologizes for doing something wrong even when he knows it was, not to the team and definitely not to Pesci.

He uses negative reinforcement consistently with anyone that will allow him to get away with it, it doesn't matter to him if it works or not entirely since it's a good way to vent those frustrations and reiterate that he's in charge.

Unfortunately Pesci will always get the brunt of that violence because he fucks up more from the stress that Prosciutto will hit him for making mistakes, and Pros doesn't care that it makes him more afraid of him, because in his eyes it's making Pesci a better mafioso.

⟢ He's not often sent out of missions even alone unless Risotto is willing to let him lose on civilians, which the majority of the time he isn't. Literally anything he can do, Formaggio, Melone or Illuso can do better.

The missions he does usually get is groups of people that need to be taken out quickly and efficiently, ones he doesn't need to tweak his stand to be able to keep people safe… because he really couldn't care less if they get in the way of the mission.

⟢ He has a high disdain for torture and won't do it himself even if ordered to, he hates to get his hands dirty and doesn't enjoy the sound of people begging and screaming.

He understands that sometimes it's needed in their line of work, but he would prefer to not be the person to do it or even be around it in any way if it can be avoided. It's something he just can't bring himself to do, even if he kills without restraint.

⟢ He has a very strange relationship with food. He doesn't like to eat messy things even when he's alone because it makes him feel disgusting for wanting it and that guilt makes him lose every single sliver of hunger he had. He does however enjoys to eat certain foods like Pizza/burgers but only when he's alone and can't be judged for enjoying it, even if the rest of the team eat like raccoons out of a dumpster.

He tends to stick to things that are either high class when he's in public or just simple hearty meals when he's in the safehouse… Does actually enjoy tart things though, lemon/lime/raspberry and will infrequently make pastries with them when no one else is around because he enjoys sweet things even if he refuses to admit it.

⟢ Absolutely does not have empathy for civilians that he kills anymore. He definitely used to but the longer that his cruelty went on, the more kills that mounted up the less he cared for their lives, they're simply collateral damage.

But that doesn't mean for a second that his viciousness and cruelty doesn't add up and make him feel like a black hole rests around his heart when he's alone. He always holds his apathetic nature close to his chest but the second that façade falls he feels empty and begins to wonder if the bloodshed could ever be washed from his fingers. It can't.

And he knows it.

⟢ Accidentally conditioned himself into being a kleptomaniac from childhood, he doesn't even realize that he's doing it the majority of the time and he very VERY rarely gets caught, but when he does they drop it quickly because it's not worth the hassle to try to accuse him of being a thief.

It happens anytime he goes out and it's never big items, almost always things he doesn't need nor want but they add up and he just ends up with a small horde of chapsticks and jewellery. Happens a LOT more with the rest of the team and for a long while they have no idea where their things were just disappearing off to until one of them catch him mindlessly doing it.

Half of them get pissed about it when it happens (Illuso, Formaggio and Ghiaccio) and the others don't really care after figuring out it's him because they can just walk into his room and take it back.

⟢ Reads a lot and believes himself better than anyone that doesn't. Will deliberately use intricate language when he's arguing with someone he deems as "lesser" than himself just to feel morally superior to them when they don't understand.

Will absolutely do it with SOME of the team when he pulls rank, because if he tries to do that shit with Melone and Ghiaccio they'll match his power move with a lot more intensity that he brings.

But if he's demeaning someone he doesn't know, he gets into it and so proud to make them feel like they're nothing to him. Because that is how he sees them.

⟢ Terrible at chess but gaslights his way through it so often that his opponent will second guess if he has them all figured out, most of the time he's just staring blankly at them waiting for them to move with occasional nudges to stop taking to long or that he "Thought they were supposed to be good at this."

It's pretty common that he intimidates them enough to back off and resign, or he wins by them overthinking their moves and making too many mistakes. He doesn't get better because they're not playing to their fullest, the only one that doesn't back down is Risotto... and he cannot play.

⟢ Hates the sound of gagging, more than anything… He doesn't have emetophobia and has no issue with either himself or other people throwing up, even when he knows how vile it is and will openly show his disgust for it.

But the sound of it sets him on edge near immediately and he wants to be out of the situation, he won't calm for hours after and gets intensely irritable throughout the day... Especially if the same person that did it is around him. Often just ends up leaving the room/area and going somewhere alone to de-stress by himself.

⟢ His stand exhausts him so much that he will pretty often just fall asleep the second he's somewhere safe and comfortable, usually on the couch in the safehouse only to wake up and snap at whoever dares to try to hold it over him.

He hates the feeling of being vulnerable or open about anything so it pisses him off to the point of wanting to fight in his sleep deprived state when someone laughs about it.

When he goes to sleep after missions he'll easily knock out for 14+ hours because he's so tired, but outside of that always makes himself wake early in the morning regardless because he wants his own time before the team get up and cause issues.

⟢ He knows how to drive but refuses to outright with how infuriating driving in the city can be, that and he hates when people are in the car with him and back seating his driving. He knows what he's doing, so when they tell him not to it only makes it more likely that he will just pull over and kick them out.

He learnt young and does have a licence but sees no reason to buy a car or use Ghiaccio's when 90% of the time he's sent further away than the others, so he prefers to just travel via train because it's a lot cheaper even if he hates how disgusting and annoying people can be... But it is harder to track someone down if you have no where to start, he leaves no trace behind, no car. No evidence.

⟢ He showers every day even if the water pressure in hotels fucking suck, he can't stand the thought of being so dirty and smelling bad. Has multiple different colognes depending on the job/place he's going, stronger and more refined on important missions or meetings with other teams, subtle and gentler on his senses for everything else.

They're expensive but he'd rather spend his money on that than something that matters less to him, even if they run out faster than he would like them to.

⟢ Hates with a passion that they can't decorate the safehouse, it's ugly and even if he doesn't particularly care about painting or getting things he likes, he hates the look of the shitty house that's barely liveable in anymore. Especially when some of the others leave it messy and the paint on the walls scratched from throwing the doors open so hard.

Without fail wakes up wanting to renovate his entire room with an annoying burst of energy in the morning that he often burns by working out or silently slipping into the living room and doing any chores that needed to be done the night before.

It's not intended to aid the rest of his team, but it's that or he ends up being jittery all day.

Dating Headcanons -

⟢ He trusts slowly, it takes him a VERY long time to even want a relationship with you and even then he will fight his own feelings for months before ever telling you.

And when he does tell you it's not sweet in any way, its rough and most likely will slip out after an argument or a mission. He'll tell you how much he wants to hate you, everything about you. And that he hates that he can't.

It's obvious what he means immediately and you won't get a word in if you even attempted to reassure him over it, hell you won't even see him for days after because he can't stand the thought of being open about it. But eventually he's willing to drop that guard even a little for you.

⟢ Won't ever tell you outright that he loves you unless he fucks up BAD, I'm talking like you're thinking about breaking up with him bad.

He won't cheat on you, ever. And he won't hurt you physically but he's jagged and won't lessen his irritation and subjugation even for you, he'll be kinder sure but he's not going to just swap to some loving boyfriend overnight.

He doesn't know how to be kind so it's rough to start with.

⟢ He's not a fan of PDA, at all. If it's a requirement for you it most likely would never work because he won't adapt for you, not for a very long time and he won't change on PDA.

You have a reputation to uphold and you only put each other in danger by being close with him, but more so than that he doesn't want the team to believe he's soft because he isn't.

He doesn't ever touch you in public but he will do things that prove he cares for you; his hand covering the edge of a table when you lean to get something, stepping past you with a snap about that 'you're in the way' but it's just because he wants to be on the side of the road and not you, quietly ordering your food/drinks the way that you like them when he gets his own. It's obvious to the people looking for it, and completely impossible to see if they're not.

⟢ Marriage… He doesn't ever see himself getting married to you, even if he does love you. He doesn't even see himself leaving the mafia, it's not something you just walk away from and marriage isn't safe nor is it entirely something he wants. Legal binding himself to someone sounds… terrifying.

It's not out of thinking he would ever break up with you, but it's more hassle than it's worth in his eyes. He'll tell you that outright, no marriage, no kids. If that's a deal breaker? He'll be hurt and he won't show it, but that's where it'll end.

⟢ For a long time he hates sleeping in the same room as you, vulnerability is not his strong suit even when the warmth of you pulls him out of his guilt for the first time in years, he won't ask for affection, he won't take it.

And he complains softly if you attempt to show him affection and hold him/kiss him but he won't push you away, and absolutely chases you if you move. He's huffy but if the complaining gets to you he'll pull back and just "allow" you to touch him, even if you can feel the jump in his heart and the desperation to keep you tightly to his chest.

No, he isn't crying when you tell him you love him. Don't bring it up.

⟢ Won't monitor what you eat even if he monitors himself, he will taper off with the hateful language he uses about food because he doesn't want you to start to hate it the way he does.

If you don't eat enough in his eyes he will 'subtly' bring you or order for you more often. If you eat more than he thinks you should? He keeps it to his damn self and doesn't bring it up, he cares about you and won't make you fear doing things in his presence. He knows too much how that judgment sits in someone's mind, and he won't allow it to do the same with you.

⟢ He doesn't do things by half, even if he complains about them. Cuddling, kissing, everything. It doesn't matter what it is, it's all consuming and near desperate every single time as if letting you go could mean it's the last time he gets to, and in the mafia it could.

He won't often seek you out for it but he craves your touch so deeply that it pisses him off when you're not being as affectionate, and it's obvious that you haven't been around for long periods of time because he snaps a lot faster. And a hell of a lot meaner.

⟢ He won't hit you, he won't degrade you like he does the others. But he won't be insanely loving with his words either.

Reassurance however is a totally different ball game to him. It's almost always raw and messy with how he speaks and what he says because for once things aren't practiced, it's not just a façade, it's a need to make sure that you're okay especially if it was his fault.

He'll scold you if you get hurt on missions, especially for protecting him, because suddenly you've ripped him into the realization that you're not immortal, eventually you're going to die whether it's to protect him or not. And that truly terrifies him.

⟢ He doesn't get outright nightmares over the things he's done but he often wakes up in the middle of the night in a dread ladened panic that lingers for far longer than he wants it to, he won't wake you or even tell you in the morning.

But he will pull you close and just silently hold you until the feeling slips from him, even if it takes hours for it to fully leave again. He doesn't entirely know if you understand how cruel that he is… but the thought that you'll start to resent him for his viciousness is something that makes him realize just how quickly he'd break without you, even when you're in the mafia alongside him.

Sometimes when it all gets too much he cries just holding you but he will never bring it up even if you're awake and soothing him, if you talk about it he'll shut you down quickly every time. Being open is not something you'll get easily, and you'll need to wait for him to come to you first.

⟢ He absolutely buys you things quite often, sometimes expensive, mostly tiny things that he's listened to you talk about weeks ago, even little things that you didn't realise he cares about listening to. The new album from your favourite band that was coming out, something you've been craving recently, more hair ties because the ones you often use always break… A ring that's akin to a proposal even if he would never admit it.

No marriage. But a promise that he is yours and you are his, until the sun rises in the west and sets in the east, until his heart slows to nothing in your palm after he allows you to tear it from his chest.

⟢ Doesn't jerk off much at all, very infrequently and only when it's becoming such a problem that he feels that he needs to reset his mind.

80% of the time it isn't a pleasure thing for him, it's a complete break from stress to move on from whatever is bothering him. The other 20% is a very irritated pleasure that he almost feels is more of a chore to deal with than anything else.

They no longer mattered and he was willing to die to avenge the people he cared about.

Risotto in fics: Stone cold, emotionless, hateful daddy dom (Wow look, another stoic/nonchalant character who gets thrown into this shit). Will hurt you, will cut you during sex (APPARENTLY>???) Doesn't care about his team in the slightest and snapped at them about Sorlato not because he didn't want lose them too... No, because he didn't care about them... Make it make sense.

Jotaro's actual character: Locks himself up to keep other people safe because he couldn't control his anger and knew he was a danger even if the poeple deserved it in his eyes. Crossed the entire world to save his mother, was willing to die at every damn step along the way and then once again in part 4 and 6. Was willing to die for the people he cared about... Left his wife and daughter to make sure that they were safe because they never would have been by his side.

Jotaro in fics: Someone who ONLY wants rough sex, hates you, berates you, degrades you. Loves to call reader/partner a bitch, whore, slut... the list goes on. Wants to hit them, force them to "take it." Hates women?? And all around just a complete fucking asshole for 0 reason, but also never speaks because he doesn't care.

I could literally go on for SO many characters and that annoys me more than anything, that such incredible characters get reduced to something they NEVER have been, they are not just "The Man." and I am so over people writing them like they are.

AND ANOTHER THING

Diavolo and Doppio. Yeah.. Let's go there.

Diavolo's actual character: A man so desperate for power and the desire to stay hidden to keep himself safe from everyone that could harm him, that he becomes incredibly paranoid that anything could be used to find him and kill him. A man who feels so threatened that he's willing to kill his own daughter to keep his anonymity, even if he's a terrible person, that fear. That is what drives him.

Doppio's actual character: A member of the damn mafia, who KNOWS he is the bosses second in command, his confidant. Willing to torture, to maim, to kill anyone and everyone to do what Diavolo needs. He is not innocent, he is prepared for whatever is asked of him, and happy to do it. (To the point Diavolo himself has to hold him back from killing when it is not needed) Puts on a façade that makes him seem friendly, approachable... Just a simple man who's clumsy and dumb... Until you get within range.

Diavolo in fics: WOW LOOK, ANOTHER FUCKING DADDY DOM?? Who hurts you, doesn't care about you.. Will do heinous things because he sees himself as a god and a king and you're nothing more than a fleeting pleasure he chooses to keep around. Will scream at you, degrade you, cut you with his tongue because he has no care for you in the slightest... Sure, because a man that trusts you enough for you to see and touch him, would hurt you.

Doppi in fics: OH MY GOD, CUTE BABY MAN??? OHHH HE'S SO CUTE AND INNOCENT AND SWEEEET. A man that will let you do anything you wanted to him because he lives to serve you and you alone.

Get a grip. Diavolo does not corrupt him, he is not corrupting him. Doppio is well aware and willing to commit the crimes that he is, he killed his mother, his adoptive father and MORE. He is cruel. He is not a sweet submissive man that won't even dare to touch you without permission. Doppio is not pathetic. He's a member of the fucking mafia, he knows he is. Stop making him nothing. He is as vicious as Diavolo is, he will kill and he will happily do it...
