In the first episode, they (jokingly) have her count toothpicks. There are only three, but she cannot tell how many there are on the ground. It was originally a rather insensitive joke about autism, but this thread of Tina struggling with math continues throughout the series. While Tina is a very bright girl, and excels in her writing, there is a major discrepancy between her IQ, and her ability in math. It could be reasonably postulated, that Tina has a fundamental inability to comprehend math and numbers. If she were a real child, I would definitely have her tested! TL;DR: Tina Belcher has a learning disorder in math, as supported by the show. Tune in next time for: Gene has ADHD.

People with learning disabilities: Yeah, I can just work long hours trying to do this thing my brain has trouble processing the "normal" way while wanting to throw things, and I will magically pass my class! Thanks for the advice!
