Do you ever wonder if deep down, in Luffy's heart, he doesn't let himself worry about Zoro because he genuinely can't? Because the alternative is simply too horrifying to contemplate for even a second?
Think about how awful it was for Luffy when he lost someone very dear to him at Marineford. This person had even promised β promised! β Luffy that he would never die. That he would never leave him alone. Yet this person who was supposed to be Luffy's constant was ripped away from him, and Luffy was powerless to stop it.
"Devastated" doesn't even come close to describing the abject despair Luffy felt at that moment. He completely shut down and went catatonic.

I've said this before but Why do people position "themes and analysis" and "shipping" as mutually exclusive opposites. maybe I find two characters thematically interesting and want them to analytically fuck about it.
We got asked if this is cute and okay. I can very happily say yes, this is stupid cute and those are happy porcupine noises.Β
One of my favorite things about doing zoo work was all the noises you never realize the animals make when theyβre excited or interested in a new thing. Coatimundis squeak and snuffle, and giant porcupines make that sound.Β

This is something you should be concerned about. This is a US senator trying to gather information on behalf of his constituents being handcuffed and removed from a press conference he was allowed to be at before he even got to ask his question. Donβt shut up about this.
Sen. Padilla was thrown to the ground, handcuffed, and detained for questioning an alarming remark Kristi Noem made just before:
Noem: "We are not going away. We are staying here toΒ liberate this city from the socialist and burdensome leadership that this Governor Newsom and this mayor placed on this country and what they have tried to insert into this city."
In other words, DHS plans to strip Californians of their democratically-elected leadership. That is the definition of a coup.

Tell Congress: end this madness now.
Kat Abughazaleh, a 26-year-old running for Congress in Illinois, is spending her campaign dollars in a whole new way.
"Kat Abughazaleh, a 26-year-old running for Congress in Illinoisβ 9th congressional district, isnβt shy about her belief that politicians need to do things differently.
βWe have a representation problem,β the first line of the βAboutβ page on her website reads.
βAs in, about half of Congress are millionaires and people born before the Moon landing. And that's part of the reason we're in this mess: Our leaders are out of touch.β
A journalist, social media influencer, and political commentator that GQ called βa lefty,β with a mission to revitalize the Democratic party, Abughazaleh built a following online before she launched her campaign in March of 2025.Β
But now, sheβs leveraging her platform β and campaign dollars β to help people in her community before ballots are even filled in.
βMy congressional campaign is feeding people right now,β she starts in a recent TikTok video.Β
βPart of the reason I decided to run was because I saw how much money gets wasted in politics, and I thought, βWhat if we spent it differently?ββ
She adds that the campaign is focused on βdirect action and mutual aid,β emphasizing that she wanted her run for office to be βdual-purpose,β in which she can get her message out and help people in the process.Β
Itβs a stark pivot from the traditional way of campaigning in the United States, which often includes pricey fundraising galas, attack ads, big billboards, and perhaps the most criticized and unpopular feature: massive donations from private businesses and interest groups.Β
Abughazaleh has publicly congratulated the former incumbent of this seat β 80-year-old Rep. Jan Schakowsky, who has held the title since 1999, the year Abughazaleh was born β for her βdecades of service.βΒ
Rep. Schakowsky will not seek reelection, but Abughazaleh called for others to run, hoping to participate in the βfirst competitive Democratic primary in the District since 1998.β
Abughazaleh has also shared that the average donation her campaign receives is $31. And according to GQ, 1,000 people signed up to volunteer for her campaign within a week of her initial announcement.
And while that volunteering does include marketing, canvassing, and getting the word out, it mostly adds up to actual on-the-ground volunteer work to help people in the local community.
βOur kick-off event, for instance, didnβt charge $500 a plate,β Abughazaleh shared in her TikTok. βPeople just had to bring a box of pads or tampons, which were donated to Chicagoβs period collective. By the end of the night, we had gathered over 5,600 period products, which went to people who canβt afford them.β
Most recently, the campaign hosted a food drive for a local community fridge program.
βWe asked folks to come out and donate food in exchange for a campaign yard or window sign,β Abughazaleh said. βAnd by the end of the day, we were able to fully stock the empty pantry and fill the fridge with frozen meals, produce, and eggs. Thatβs feeding people right now.β
βDonβt worry, we checked to make sure this is legal," she added. "And it is."
The campaign has also launched a High School Public Serve Grant program that encourages local youth to submit ideas for how to make the community better, and Abughazalehβs campaign will support it with money, materials, volunteers, and her online platform...
βSomething youβll rarely see is concrete help in their communities during the campaign,β she said. βAnd frankly, to me, that just seems stupid. Not only do you get to help people β supposedly what youβre running to do β but it also shows what youβre about, instead of just providing lip service.β ...
βIf every campaign adopted this model, then we wouldnβt be wasting money every single cycle. Every city, town, and village across America would be improved by their election process, and I think it would also get people more involved,β she said.
βWe have local folks who have never voted in an election, but they joined our volunteer Discord server because they want to help, they feel like they have something to vote for.β
For those who might be inspired enough to run for office with this model, she says: Full steam ahead.
βFrankly, I would love it if other campaigns took our model. Use it, pretend itβs yours, I donβt care!β she wrapped up her TikTok.Β
βPair with organizations in your community that have been doing the work, talk with local experts, and try to spearhead any initiatives you can to show your values and help your constituents. Itβs really that easy.β
