âLa Chimèreâ Ensemble from Thierry Mugler Fall 1997 Haute Couture.
The ensemble consists of a sheath dress with an articulated gold body made from scales, feathers, and horsehair embroidered with rhinestones.

This is going to sound so stupid but as someone from a subtropical area, I struggle to fathom the climate of Britain. Iâve been doing a lot of research on the climate of southern Wales. What do you mean the temperature is usually between 34°f and 66°f? The record low is only -9.9°f and the record high is 98°f? Iâm from a place where it is usually between 30° f and 90°f, the record low is -34°f and the record high is 110°f. My brain cannot comprehend the idea of a place that isnât freezing in the winter and sweltering in the summer. No life threatening temperature seesaw? No tornadoes? No hail?
It just rains, mists and drizzles? Theres a little snow sometimes?
This is so silly and cute I love it

you should get a second evening for reading fan fiction. And you should get an extra day in the week to do arts and crafts.
The Painted Garden of the Villa of Livia. Â

I miss when ads were a single click and then theyâre gone. Now every ad has a minimum of three phases where you watch a video, exit the still frame of fake gameplay, and then exit the app download. That doesnât even touch on the ones that forcibly take you to another app after opening a tab in safari without you ever touching the screen.
I hate advertising. I hate that you canât do anything without companies jumping down your throat with mostly bullshit ads. I hate that billboards exist. I hate that every company unanimously decided to make their ads longer and longer. I hate that ad blockers try to charge you money and there are in app purchases to remove ads. I hate that my attention has become commodified. I hate that thereâs nothing I can do about it.
âAt $10 an hour youâd have to work 1,250 hours to cover the UWâs $12,500 tuition (more, once you take out taxes). In a 12-week summer, thatâs more than 100 hours a week. What really made me feel ancient is that the 1981 UW student guide shows the Med school charged only $1,029 a year back then. Today: $28,040! Now, I didnât go to the UW. But Iâm going down Husky memory lane because last week The Seattle Times featured a crop of harried UW students looking rueful and broke. The story said skeptical state legislators often say how âthey worked their way through college. And then they ask: Why donât students do that today?â Of all our delusions, we old farts cling to this bootstrap one the most. We worked our way up on sweat and chicken grease, we say. Canât this generation? Whatâs wrong with them? Whatâs wrong is that after we got ours, we cut it off for them. The reason a summer at KFC could pay for a year of UW med school in 1981 isnât that we were so hardworking and industrious. Itâs that taxpayers back then picked up 90 percent of the tab. We werenât Horatio Algers. We were socialists. Today, the public picks up only 30 percent of UW tuition, and dropping.â

A perfectly natural heterosexual black swan couple raising their cute fluffy babies together as God intended <3
SIKE
THEY'RE GAY
And they're not some rare exception to the rule, either!!!
About 25% of black swan couples consist of two swans of the same sex (typically, two males).
These couples will court each other, build a nest, and raise their young together in a more-or-less committed monogamous relationship.
In fact, these same-sex couples have a high success rate of 80% when raising their young to adulthood, as opposed to the 30% of their heterosexual counterparts! Two big buff papa swans are better than one when it comes to stomping on invaders of nesting territory.
"But," I hear you say, "where do their baby floofballs come from? Does mpreg exist among black swans?"
Alas, no, but there is a very elegant solution to this. The swan couple may simply temporarily associate themselves with a female swan.
Afterwards, the female swan deposits their eggs and swims off free to live her single girlie life if she wishes (or, find a boyfriend. Preferably one who isn't already committed to another boyfriend.)
So whenever someone commits the naturalistic fallacy "homosexuality bad because unnatural >:(" I like to point out not only their glaring illogicality, but also, respectfully, there is homosexuality happening in the local lake right now.
This concludes my Ted Talk on gay swans.
Iâm a big fan of reenactment archaeology. I think thereâs a lot to be said for recreating a scenario to better understand decisions made in generations past. Usually thereâs an inherent logic to them.
Which is to say, that now that I have a baby of my own, I understand so much better the common cultural practice in which unmarried women wear their hair loose and uncovered, while married women have their hair covered and/or bound back.
I doubt it was just for modesty, oh no. No, my friends, I see now that the reason for this common practice of mothers binding back their hair is because there is nothing, I mean nothing, a baby love more than YANKING EVERY STRAND OF HAIR THAT COMES WITHIN GRABBING DISTANCE OF THEIR STICKY, SWEATY, AND IMPOSSIBLY STRONG LITTLE HANDS.
(in many western countries for quite a distance back in time, it wasn't specifically a married/unmarried thing and unmarried women often tied/pinned up and/or covered their hair too. but OP is so right about kids and grabby hands!)
