THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
if you dont reblog this youre straight
Not on my fucking watch buddy
Science Side of Tumblr, I need your help! Ladies of the Science Side of Tumblr, I especially need your help!
I had a conversation at my non-science day job that went like this:
A friend who shall be called Diane (not her real name) comes to my desk to chat. Just one of the many topics we discuss is that her boyfriend is taking a class in wildlife biology. She has decided that she has grown tired of hearing about local wildlife and hearing him recite a plethora of scientific names.
I responded positively to this subject, and told her that I too found the subject interesting. A third person had heard our conversation. We shall call her Claire (again, not her real name). Claire immediately responded, “Girls don’t like that kind of thing.”
“Are you saying that girls don’t like science?” I asked.
“No, not normally they don’t,” she responded.
Before you all screech with anguish, bear with me for a moment. We all know that this is not true. As a man, I find this idea upsetting for countless reasons that have all been validly discussed before. To try to debate the issue is rather moot. Instead, I’d like a show of hands.
Ladies of the Science Side of Tumblr! I call you to arms! Will you rally around me in saying that women can and do indeed love science, of any variety? Gentleman of the Science Side of Tumblr who know someone who is a girl who also happens to love science, will you stand with me too? We all like and reblog the pro-women-in-science posts we see so often, let’s all stand and be counted in one place this time.
Reblog this if you are a woman who loves science. Reblog this if you are a man who knows a woman who loves science. Let us disprove her beyond all doubt!
FEMALE WHO LOVES SCIENCE OVER HERE
Guys who complain about the friendzone often don’t care about their female friends’ personal boundaries, forcing their female friends build more walls up. A good cartoon.

“I’m going to wall you up now, Fortunato.”
“Ha ha, and then what? ;) ”
“For the love of God, Montresor!” -Cask of Amontifriendzone, Edgar Allan Poe
Incessantly, I heard a smacking, as of some entitled dipshit whacking, whacking on my chamber door.
Resignedly, I placed another layer, voicing a quiet, repeated prayer, “This dude thinks he’s a player, but I am not a point to score, he should fuck off and bother me no more.”
Quoth the friendzoned, “Fucking whore.”

acts of bravery that go underappreciated: - taking medication/seeing a professional - bringing up something that makes you anxious and talking through it - admitting you made a mistake - sending a message first - apologizing - standing up for yourself
feel free to add on!

For Asexual Awareness Week, I didn’t have a lot of time, but I wanted to at least share a condensed version of my discovery of asexuality.
Everyone’s different and on a spectrum, but I hear the phrase “I thought I was broken” when I hear stories about ace people before they knew they were ace. I suffered a lot thinking I was broken when I was going through high school. I felt such relief to learn there’s a word for what I am. I hope others find comfort, too
For every gay person who used to identify as bi because of internal homophobia, there’s a bi person who used to identify as gay due to internal biphobia.
For every gay person who used to identify as ace because of internal homophobia, there’s an ace gay person who used to not identify as ace due to internal aphobia.
It’s not that difficult a concept, so if we could stop accusing ace/bi folk of “endangering gay kids” for existing, that’d be nice.
Reblog if you’d support a friend or family member who came out as queer

Why Asexuality Representation should be Important
I’m twelve I’m sitting in my middle school sex-Ed class wondering why anyone would find this enjoyable. The girls around me are talking about how they want to lose they virginity and they turn and ask me about it. I say I don’t want to it sounds gross. They all call me a freak and say I’ll change my mind.
I’m 14 I’m in my high school sex-Ed class and they are talking about abstinence the girls behind are talking about how it’s stupid and how most of them have already lost theirs. They ask me if I have and say no and that I never want to, again they look at me as if I’m some kind of freak. I tell my mom she says that I will once I find the right person and that it would be sad if I didn’t.
I’m 15 and I learn what asexuality is and start labeling myself as that. I am told that it is not a real thing and that it is just me trying to make myself feel special and that one day I will want to have sex.
I’m sixteen and my best friend insists that I couldn’t know if I was have never tried it. He pressures me in to giving him a blowjob and having sex with him. I don’t talk to him for the next couple days because I’m still trying to wrap my head around it. I tell another person who asks that I’m asexual he overhears and confronts me.
He screams at me “ you have had sex you can’t say your asexual when you have had sex”. I try to explain to him that I never wanted to and even while it happened I never enjoyed it. He walks away while I’m talking then starts to blame his depression on me saying that it was because he was so bad in bed that I’m asexual. He won’t talk to me anymore.
I’m so tired of being considered a freak, and being told that it will change when I am older. Told that it is sad that I don’t want to have sex. For the longest time I felt that I was the only one who felt this way. I would look at the media and see all these shows showing characters showing sex as the greatest thing that could happen and I just couldn’t relate I felt alone. I know now that there are people like me and they never grow to like it if only I could have told my younger self that she wasn’t alone and that I didn’t have to feel so different from everyone else.
