I will never get over how soft my boy Ilya is, and how deeply he feels everything. Like, behind all that chirping and the sarcasm and bluntness... there is so much fucking love, and the thing is... he's not even hiding it. That's one of the only things he's not good at, it's hiding it. It's just that most people don't care to look for it. God, he's so fucking in love with Shane right away. The way he proposed the idea of a photoshoot with Shane so he could see him. The way he massages Shane's shoulder at their first meeting in Shane's hotel room because he sees how tense and nervous Shane is about all of this. The way he laughs when Shane folds his clothes. The way he teases him all the time. The fact that he took the NHL awards picture on his phone so he could keep them. The way he simply kissed Shane after Shane asked him what would happen if he'd win because that's all Ilya ever wanted in the first place... to kiss Shane and be close to him. The way tries to tell Shane that he's gonna go home in 3 days, to let him know what's going on, but Shane not being able to understand Ilya's issues yet. Him asking Shane to stay. Ilya having a cold ginger ale ready for Shane without Shane having to ask for it. The fact that he prepared the ingredients for the tuna melts and cooked for Shane! The way he said Shane's name and his smile after Shane said his name in return because for a small moment he thought they are on the same page. And that's only what we've seen in the show so far! Because (as someone who's read the books) that's only the beginning of watching our boy Ilya falling in real time. Fuck dude, the way Ilya is so so so in love!
